Beyoncé has reportedly nabbed the cover of VOGUE's September 2018 issue, and also got total control over how entire spread, which no cover subject in VOGUE's history has ever gotten.  We also hear she's making history with a black photographer.  Because, Beyonce.

Deets inside.

For the first time since 2015, Beyoncé will reportedly bless VOGUE magazine with a cover shoot, and according to sources, she received unprecedented control over it all.  Y'all know she's not doing ISH without her own team having complete creative control.  That track "Boss" made the Carters' album for a reason.

With rumors swirling that the upcoming September issue will be Anna Wintour's last, it sounds like the British fashion head honcho is changing it all the way up to go out with a bang.

Page Six reports the Lemonade queen will indeed be September's cover subject, but it's unclear if she'll be doing an interview, an essay of her own, and whatever else the Queen dreams up.  But what we do know is that young photographer Tyler Mitchell shot her spread (which supposedly took place back in April). Nabbing Tyler for this gig is a big f'ing deal, because that makes him the very first black photographer to ever shoot the cover of VOGUE magazine.

EIC Anna Wintour typically goes for traditional, often used photographers for her shoots, like Mario Testino who shot Beyonce's September 2015 spread.  But, this time around, Beyoncé flexed her power (and blackness) and made sure she had more control than anyone ever has.

The Huffington Post reports:

“The reason a 23-year-old black photographer is photographing Beyoncé for the cover of Vogue is because Beyoncé used her power and influence to get him that assignment,” the source said.

Yossss sis!  THAT is how it should be.

Being black and fabulous shouldn't just stop with you once you make it.  Beyoncé & her husband Jay-Z often tap tons of black creatives to slay in the limelight with them (Beychella, anyone?!).  Hiring black creatives, talent, etc. shouldn't solely be the responsibility of mainstream media, and no one knows that better than The Carters who have an immensely inclusive team surrounding them.

Instead of waiting for corporations, mainstream media and more to dig their heads out the sand and find talent of color, black celebs like The Carters do it themselves.  And for that, they can take all our money on this latest OTR II tour.  Where's the merch?!
