Gabrielle Union is repping for the black creatives who have been doing 10x the work people know about, and only now getting paid for it. Find out why the now award winning producer says "F*** your table!" and killing it at the box office with her own.
Breaking In hits theater today, and Gabrielle Union's not only playing an everyday hero on screen, she's proving to be a hero in movie and tv space too.
Gab and producer Will Packer hit up the recent special screening at Atlanta's Regal Atlantic Station that she and the studio invited TheYBF.com to attend.
Will acknowledged the politicians in attendance - Stacy Abrahms who is running for Governor of Georgia and Atlanta’s new mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms - while Gab kept her comments short and sweet because she lost her voice after #Beychella.
We feel you, girl.
"I don't want a seat at the table. I actually don't want to be at your table at all. I'm at this house over here and I'm employing people and everybody's included."
Serving as producer alongside Will this go-round, Gab explained how she managed to wear both the actor and producer hat:
"We've always had to be that. Half the time, on certain productions if they don't believe in diversity in the hair and makeup department, then we're hair, we're makeup, we're wardrobe. You gotta to make sure not only you know your lines, but everybody else knows their lines. because you want it to be a success.
So we've been multitasking as talent forever. Now we're being given the opportunity to produce as well. For me it's just another day in the park but I'm also getting paid for it finally. Like Nicki Minaj said, 'I been on!'"
Say.That.

Before she chopped it up with the ladies, the "Being Mary Jane" star screened the mom-hero flick for a group of VIPs.
"Sister Circle" host and singer Syleena and other ATL folks were there for the flick too:
Will brought his wife Heather along.
And The Dream and HGTV star Egypt Sherrod brought their spouses too.
Jim Jones showed up too.
Fun times.
By the way, Gabrielle & Will jetted off to Las Vegas right after the screening so Gab could receive the Cinemacon breakthrough producer of the year award!
