Zoe Kravitz and the "Big Little Lies" cast just received two new YBF castmates. Speaking of Zoe, she's gracing the cover of INSTYLE's newest magazine and she's killing it, of course. Get it all inside...
"Big Little Lies" will be bringing a few new faces to the small screen for the upcoming 2nd season.
"The Haves and the Have Nots" star Crystal Fox and "Empire" star Mo McRae will be flexing their acting skills in the new season of HBO’s Emmy-winning limited series. Crystal is set to play series regular Elizabeth Howard and Mo will recur as Michael Perkins.
According to Deadline, the actors will join the previously announced returning cast, including Zoe Kravitz as Bonnie Carlson, Nicole Kidman as Celeste Wright, Reese Witherspoon as Madeline Martha Mackenzie, Adam Scott as Ed MacKenzie, Laura Dern as Renata Klein, and Shailene Woodley as Jane. Previously announced Meryl Streep will join season 2 as Mary Louise Wright, along with Douglas Smith as Corey Brockfield.
Nice to see some fresh YBF faces doing it big on the TV scene.
Speaking of television....
"Big Little Lies" star Zoe Kravitz graces not one, but four covers for INSTYLE magazine's May 2018 issue.
Inside, the 29-year-old actress/singer dished to her godmother/actress/interviewer Marisa Tomei - her mother Lisa Bonet's former co-star - about keeping in touch with her castmates even before she knew they would get renewed for season 2.
“Before we knew we were coming back for a second season, we kept in touch—group texts and emails and stuff like that. And I’ve spoken to [co-star] Reese [Witherspoon], who’s become one of my dearest friends, about so many aspects of my life.”
As time continues to pass her by, Zoe's thoughts now linger on aging, but in a good way.
“I’m feeling more in my body,” she said. “Beauty is so much what’s on the inside, as Hallmark-y as that may sound.”
The award winning actress said it took her some time to feel beautiful on the inside and the outside, however she's at that point now where she's comfortable in her own skin. One way she expresses her beauty is through tattoos.
“I think the fact that they’re permanent is such a wonderfully intense thing,” she shared. “It’s a deep way to adorn yourself, and I think they’re beautiful aesthetically. Even if you get a bad tattoo, it’s like…that’s where you were at that time.”
Like a lot of us melaninated women, coconut oil is a staple in her beauty routine:
“I love the idea of putting something on your body that you can eat and that smells like cupcakes … because girls are supposed to smell like cupcakes [laughs]. It’s my favorite thing in the world, coconut oil.”
Coconut oil is a godsend.
