TMZ broke the sad news Friday reveaing the Emmy Award winning actor had been battling cancer.
The beloved actor passed away at his home in New York, surrounded by friends and family. We're told he'd been battling lung cancer.
Reg's career spanned 30+ years, and included major or influential roles in "Oz", Fantastic Four, "S.W.A.T." and more.
Reg's longtime close friend and "The Wire" creator David Simon poured out his heart on Twitter saying:
