This fool tried it! Go inside to see “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” star Young Hollywood basically degrade his co-star Amara La Negra over the way she looks inside…
If you were like us, you tuned in to VH1 to catch the premiere of the “Love & Hip Hop: Miami.” The debut episode definitely brought us back seeing Trina and Trick Daddy working together and also watching Pretty Ricky attempt to reunite.
But, there were some moments that had us wanting to reach through the screen and scalp a certain cast member - “Producer” Young Hollywood. Ok, we’ll take the quotations off since he does have a few credits, which you can check out here.
On this week's premiere, Young Hollywood sets up a meeting with gorgeous co-star and singer Amara La Negra, a proud Afro-Latina from the Dominican Republic. She resides in Miami as she works on her career. The first meeting was awkward as Amara brought her mother (who she called her best friend) to the meeting. If her mom isn’t her manager there was no reason for her to be at the meeting, so her bad on that one. Young Hollywood and Amara then set up a second meeting where ish went alllll the way left.
He told her in order for him to work with her she needed to change up her image. How? “A little more Beyonce, a little less Macy Gray,” he responded. He says her hair needs to be straight for her to be sexy and elegant.
When she asked if she couldn’t be elegant because she had an afro, he said YES. WHET?!
Oh, it gets worse.
He went on to ask her if she identified as Afro-Latina because she’s African or because she has an afro. This fool had the audacity to backhand compliment her by calling her a “Nutella Queen” and he then proceeded to call her crazy and "intense." Well, this happens daily in America.

This conversation made me so mad. It's sad that people actually think like this. pic.twitter.com/bWofupXgdc

As expected, Twitter proceeded to drag his colorist a**:
Young Hollywood made it seem like Amara La Negra having an Afro and dark skin was too “intense and aggressive,” and then when Amara responded be called her crazy. How he treated her exactly how Black ppl are treated like in white spaces. #LHHMIA

LORD that #LHHMIAMI Afro-Latina scene between Amara and Young Hollywood. I can’t even unpack the amount of racism, colorism, eurocentrism and just down right ignorance that just unfolded in 3 minutes. this is why I rarely watch tv.

I was angry about Young Hollywood’s ignorant comments, then i went on his IG and saw ppl dragging him already and now I’m happy #LHHMIApic.twitter.com/G9mMdWMNhO

“You can’t be elegant with a fro.” - Young Hollywood
Celia Cruz and her entire success as an iconic Afro-Latina determined that is a motherfucking lie! #LHHMIApic.twitter.com/fjKOn8UGZp

However, Amara won't be needing Young Hollywood and his production skills. The 27-year-old just inked a multi-album record deal with with Fast Life Entertainment Worldwide and BMG. Nice!
“I’m still in shock!," she gushed to Billboard about the new deal. "At times, I am caught pinching myself because there is a part of me that still is in awe of being signed to a franchise that will heighten my success," she raved in a statement. "It is a feeling of a different level of hunger because I have prayed for this so much that it feels unreal! I am humbly honored to have a team that continues to believe in me. Having a pioneer in the music arena like Zach seeing the potential in my musical craft and talent. I am thankful for my team at Fast Life Ent. Worldwide and BMG for this opportunity as an artist. And I cannot for my fans to hear my new music."
Congrats Amara! Hopefully Young Hollywood gets his followers up before he tries to come for Amara again...
