Rapper Fetty Wap thought it was a good idea to drag race on a New York City highway early this morning (Friday). And he was above the legal alcohol limit ( which is .08) while doing so.
New York Police Department spokesman Sgt. Thomas Antonetti confirmed to the Associated Press that Fetty, whose government name Willie Maxwell, was speeding down the Gowanus Expressway just after 1 a.m. in his black 2012 Mercedes CLS AMG. It was clear he was racing another vehicle.
ABC 7 NY reports:
"The officer noticed signs of intoxication and gave the rapper a field sobriety test, where he blew a .09.
He failed another sobriety test at the precinct."
Fetty also handed over a suspended New Jersey license when he was initially pulled over, so he racked up plenty of charges.
The "Trap Queen" rapper was charged with reckless endangerment, illegal speed contest, operating a motor vehicle with .08, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, motor vehicle license violation, unsafe lane change, following too close, illegal signal, driving while alcohol impaired, and four counts of a speed violation.
What an example for his umpteen kids. A mess.
Fetty will be arraigned in Brooklyn later today.
