Issa Rae perfectly sums up why it’s so hard to enjoy the club scene these days for VOGUE magazine. Peep the clip, plus Danielle Brooks’ looking gorgeous in a new clothing campaign inside…
Once you hit a certain age, the club scene just isn’t the same. In your 20s, it was all about linking up with your girls, getting dressed up and partying all night long in the club. Once you reach that 30-year-old milestone, it’s just not the same. And Issa Rae can relate.
The “Insecure” star is featured in VOGUE magazine’s “Sad Hot Girls” series, which explores the world of intimacy and friendship from the point of view of artists and writers.
Issa perfectly sums up why we just can’t do the club life any longer. In the clip, she shares how she comes up with any excuse possible to get out of going to club. Finally, one of her friends talked her into going to the club one night and guess what? It was a disater. No surprise there.
Peep the clip below:
Yeah, we would rather sit in the house and watch "Insecure" re-runs before going to club any night.
By the way, Issa is currently developing a 90s drama based in LA about an African-American family dealing with the events of the time. It's another collaboration with HBO, so we expect it to be our new obsession when it drops.
On the campaign front...
Danielle Brooks does it again! Chick never disappoints when it comes to posing it up for an ad and her newest one isn’t any different.
The “Orange Is The New Black” star teamed up with Universal Standard to design an exclusive clothing collection for curvy girls of the world. The Tony Award nominee will be releasing a three-piece “Tria” collection, which is set to drop in November.
Danielle told PEOPLE Style she decided to work with the brand because of its commitment to provide quality clothing in an array of sizes.
“The reason I chose Universal Standard to be the first company that I design for is because they symbolize the fact that all women, no matter their shape or size, want and deserve to wear beautifully made, fashion forward clothing,” she said. “They stand for everything I believe in!”
If you’re looking to cop a few pieces, you can head over to Universal Standard to grab a few pieces from the preview. The full collection will drop next month.
Congrats Danielle!
