O.J. Simpson is a free man and he couldn’t resist eating McDonald’s for his first meal. More inside…
The Juice is loose!
After he was granted parole in July, former NFL star O.J. Simpson is now a free man. And what’s the first thing a man does who has been locked up for nine years? He eats! Of course.
Once the 70-year-old was released from the Lovelock Correctional Center on kidnapping and robbery charges early Sunday morning (seen above), he stopped by McDonald’s for a quick bite en route to Las Vegas.
You would think his first post-prison meal would be amazing, but apparently it wasn’t all that great.
“He said, ‘It’s better than prison food, but it’s not what it’s all cracked out to be,’” OJ’s attorney, Malcolm LaVergne, told the NY Daily News.
OJ was reported to be moving to Florida, but he will apparently live in the Las Vegas area for an unspecified amount of time.
Now that he’s out, Ron Goldman’s family is looking to collect.
According to CNN:
California attorney David Cook specializes in collections. His most challenging debtor: O.J. Simpson.
Now that Simpson has been released from a Nevada prison after serving nine years for a robbery and kidnapping conviction, Cook says he's ready to start working again. "The good news for me is he's getting out. The bad news for him is I'm in good health. I'm good to go."
Simpson was acquitted in 1995 of their murders, but he was ordered to pay $33.5 million after losing the wrongful death suits in 1997. That figure increased twofold, Cook says, because of interest. "I renewed the judgment in 2015 at $57 million. Two years have passed, so now it's a touch under $70 million."
Guess we will see how this all unfolds.
