Turn up! Donald Glover and Sterling K. Brown made history and took home golden statues during the Primetime EMMY Awards. After the show, it was the afterparties and we’ve got flicks of the winners, plus several other YBF stars inside…
It was an epic night for Donald Glover as he scooped up TWO, yes two, Primetime EMMY Awards for his dope FX series, “Atlanta.” He made HISTORY as the first black director to win the EMMY for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series. YAS! He also won the EMMY for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy.
To make his moment even sweeter, he’s also welcoming baby #2. So yeah, he had PLENTY to celebrate after the ceremony. The Spider-Man: Homecoming star hit up the 69 Annual Primetime EMMY Awards Governors Ball to celebrate his historical wins.
As he made his rounds, Donald nabbed a photo-op with fellow comedy writing EMMY winner Aziz Ansari.
He did it again! “This Is Us” actor Sterling K. Brown won his 2nd EMMY for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. The EMMYs were EXTRA shady when it came to his extra black acceptance speech, turning his mic off and turning down the lights after he demanded he was NOT going to be shut down.
Either way, he still had a good time and his wife/co-star Ryan Michelle Bathe did too. The happy couple was all smiles at the Governor’s Ball with the golden statue.
All this winnin'!
At another afterparty...
"Atlanta" stars Brian Tyree Henry and Lakeith Stanfield were HYPED that their homie/co-star/boss Donald Glover scooped up two awards, confirming that the FX series is more than dope. They hit up the FOX/FX/National Geographic’s afterparty held at Vibiana after the ceremony.
"Atlanta" star Zazie Beetz, who's filming Deadpool 2, served up floral fabulousness on the carpet. We can't wait to see her kick a** in the Deadpool 2 movie.
Marshall actress Keesha Sharp served up some leg action before getting to the fun.
Trans activist Janet Mock rocked this white crochet Jonathan Simkhai dress.
"Brooklyn Nine Nine" actor Craig Robinson, who's currently filming a new TV series "Ghosted," snapped it up with his guest.
"Suits" actress Gina Torress lit up the carpet in his yellow number.
At another party...
"The Quad" actress Anika Noni Rose kept on her custom Thai Nguyen Atelier princess gown at HBO's Post Emmy Awards Reception held at The Plaza at the Pacific Design Center. We don’t blame her either. The dress is stunning.
However, "Westworld" actress Tessa Thompson changed out of her multi-colored Rosie Assoulin dress for a sexy all black everything ensemble.
Yes, bawdy! WONDALAND honcho Janelle Monae showed off her toned abs and she was rocking an added color to her signature black and white color scheme. This time, she threw some red in there.
"Westworld" actress Thandie Newton, who was up for an EMMY award, brought her mother Nyasha Newton as her plus 1.
"Insecure" star Amanda Seales was all smiles as she made her rounds at the party.
You can never go wrong with a black dress for a fancy event and "Insecure" star and writer Natasha Rothwell was on point.
"Orange Is The New Black" star Laverne Cox hardly ever disappoints on a red carpet.
"black-ish" cutie Marsai Martin posed it up in a seaform green one-shouldered gown.
Funnyman Keegan-Michael Key and his girlfriend Elisa Pugliese has been hot on these red carpets.
Both "The Wire" alum Michael K Williams and "Real Husbands of Hollywood" star J. B. Smoove kept it dapper before hitting the dance floor.
