Kerry Washington was the woman of the hour as she was honored for her contributions to television during the pre-EMMY festivites. Meanwhile, Tracee Ellis Ross, Zendaya and several other YBF celebs hit up the party scene. Flicks inside…
When you’re an all around FAB chick, it’s only right you get your flowers while you’re around to receive them. She’s a force in the television industry making her “Scandal” character Olivia Pope larger than life. She’s also big on philanthropy and helping out the less fortunate. And now, she’s being recognized for it.
Last night, Kerry Washington was honored Women Making History Awards, hosted by the National Women’s History Museum, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The 40-year-old bombshell stood out to be recognized in a black and white polka dot Caroline Herrera dress as she posed it up alongside her “Scandal” co-star Bellamy Young. Bellamy offered up a sweet introduction that touched Kerry’s heart. Here’s what she had to say about it:
How sweet.
By the way, Instagram COO Marne Levine and SpaceX president and COO Gwynne Shotwell were also honored.
Back on the carpet...
Zendaya hit the carpet serving up 70s style realness with a modern twist. The “woke” Disney star rocked a stripped cut-out Christian Siriano jumpsuit. It was no surprise the 21-year-old was on the scene because she’s a huge advocate for women.
And of course, she had to snag a photo-op with the honoree.
“black-ish” cutie Marsai Martin is slaying the kiddie fashion game. All of her pre-EMMY looks have been A1 and this one isn’t any different. The 13-year-old kept it stylish in a Stella Jean dress as she made her rounds at the event.
"Dear White People" starlet Logan Browning is another YBF stunna who has been lighting up the pre-EMMY scene.
"Queen Sugar" star Dawn-Lyen Gardner is another YBF chick who have been serving up fabulousness this EMMY weekend.
“Shameless” starlet Shanola Hampton was all smiles snapping it up with her co-star Emma Kenney and actress/comedian Retta.
And there was some male love to go around via Michael K. Williams.
At another pre-EMMY bash:
The EMMY nominees (and previous winner) hit the party scene for a 2nd night of fun. "This Is Us" star Sterling K. Brown and his wife/co-star Ryan Michelle Bathe made their way back on the scene for another round of parties. The couple posed it up on the carpet at the FX and Vanity Fair Emmy Celebration last night. And Ryan looked AH-MAZING.
Sterling is in the running for his 2nd EMMY in the Best Lead Actor In A Drama Series.
And check this out...
When Sterling and Ryan tried to head out for the EMMY parties the night before, their son was NOT having it. Peep the clip below:
Aww!
"Atlanta" star Donald Glover, who's up for three EMMY awards, and his co-star Lakeith Stanfield were there, naturally. We hear filming for season 2 starts/started this month.
"Atlanta" star Zazie Beetz, who's starring in the upcoming Deadpool 2, showered her co-star Lakeith with love on the carpet.
"Atlanta" producer John Singleton kept it sharp in a blue suit.
Inside...
"Atlanta" star Brian Tyree Henry snapped it up with Sterling. Did you know Brian had a cameo in season 1 of "This Is Us?" He played a younger version of Sterling's character's dad.
Fun times.
Elsewhere...
Tracee Ellis Ross, who's up for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, returned to the pre-EMMY scene in a black Ulyana Sergeenko dress to party it up at the BBC America BAFTA Los Angeles TV Tea Party held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Tracee's on-screen daughter Marsai Martin kept it super cute in her two-piece ensemble.
And new dadMalcolm-Jamal Warner was in the mix.
