LeToya Luckett made her first public appearance at the 2017 Black Music Honors since announcing her engagement. Several old school acts were also in the mix, including SWV, Kid N’ Play and more. Peep the flicks inside…
Well look who’s ALL smiles!
LeToya Luckett has that “soon-to-be a wife” glow now that she’s engaged to entrepreneur Tommicus Walker. While we’re sure she would love to be all boo’d up with her new fiancé, duty calls.
The R&B singer was tapped to co-host the 2017 Black Music Honors alongside Rickey Smiley at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville last night. The ceremony honored several legendary groups and artists, including The Jacksons, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Slick Rick, Guy, Oleta Adams, and Jody Watley.
Hip Hop duo Kid N’ Play made a rare appearance together on the red carpet before they hit the stage to pay tribute to the musical icons.
SWV – Leanne "Lelee" Lyons, Coko Clemons and Tamara "Taj" Johnson-George - posed it up in their black leather jackets before they hit the stage.
“Rickey Smiley Morning Show” co-host/rapper Da Brat linked up with Rickey on the carpet before the show. She also hit the stage to perform.
We don't see these guys often. R&B singes Montell Jordan (with his wife Kristin Hudson) and Carl Thomas stepped out to pay tribute to the honorees.
Honoree Slick Rick hit the carpet before he was awarded with the Hip Hop/Rap Music Icon Award.
Honorees Guy -Damien Hall and Teddy Riley- who copped the R&B Soul Music Icon Award caught up with fellow honoree Jody Watley, who received the Crossover Music Icon Award.
R&B singer Sevyn Streeter and her mom Karen Streeter hit the carpet before Sevyn hit the stage to perform.
Below are a few flicks from inside the ceremony:
Montell Jordan switched it up and performed a Slick Rick tribute.
The Jacksons, who were presented the Lifetime Achievement in Music Award, hit the stage for a lively performance.
R&B singers Shanice and Tony Terry also lit up the stage.
