We all know Daya is no stranger to speaking out on social injustices, so it was no surprise she used her acceptance speech to speak to the kiddies in the audience about the current climate of racism and hate in our country.
"Spider-Man is about a young person and so right now I want to talk to all the young people in the audience right now," Daya told the audience. "With all the injustice and hatred and everything that is happening right now in the world and in our country. I need you to listen and pay attention and I need you to go ahead and understand you have a voice and it's OK to use it when you see something bad happening."
“So make sure that you stay educated and you do not let people tell you what you think you should feel, she continued. “You’re the future leaders of the world. You guys are the ones who will make this world better. I’m letting you all know right now, that you are the future, so take that very, very seriously.”
