Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Humble’ Video Is The 2017 MTV VMA Favorite, Leads The Pack With 8 Noms

The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards have announced who will be in the running for an award this year and Kendrick Lamar is king.

The TDE rapper leads the pack with eight nominations for his “Humble” video treatment, including Video of the Year and Artist of the Year. Following close behind Kendrick is the The Weeknd, raking in five nominations, who’s also up for Video of the Year for "Reminder." They’ll battle it out against DJ Khaled, Rihanna& Bryson Tiller’s “Wild Thoughts,” Bruno Mars’“24K Magic” and Alessia Cara– “Scars To Your Beautiful.”

Our new fave SZA (who’s signed to TDE along with Kendrick) has been nominated for Best New Artist where she’s up against Khalid, Kodak Black, Young M.A., and others. 

The Best Hip Hop Video category includes Big Sean’s “Bounce Back,” Chance the Rapper’s “Same Drugs,” D.R.A.M.& Lil Yachty’s “Broccoli,” Migos& Lil Uzi Vert’s “Bad & Boujee” and DJ Khaled’s “I’m The One” featuring, Lil Wayne, Chance the Rapper, Quavo and Justin Bieber.

Kanye West’s “Fade” starring Teyana Taylor is in the running for Best Choreography. Future’s “Mask Off” will be up against Young Thug’s “Wyclef Jean” for Best Editing.

Meanwhile, Big Sean’s “Light” and John Legend’s “Surefire” is up for Best Fight Against The System, a new category to celebrate videos that inspire viewers to stand up and fight injustice.

See who will win an award when the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards air live from the Forum in Inglewood on Sunday, August 27th at 8:00pm EST.
