Y'all, NBC went and cancelled one of the best sitcoms on tv right now.  And folks are PISSED.

"The Carmichael Show" just got the axe after the network failed to renew the actors' options by the proper date.  Deadline reports:

NBC’s The Carmichael Show won’t be returning for a fourth season. The network and studio announced the news shortly after creator and star Jerrod Carmichael revealed he was exiting the series as cast options were set to expire at the end of today.

The genius sitcom that perfectly played out serious social issues with utter hilarity was secretly being shopped to other networks to gauge potential interest.  Apparently, all signs had been pointing to cancellation when the network did not renew the show at the same time they renewed others.

Interestingly, the show is a hit amongst many and the ratings remained stable all season.

This season, the series tackled episodes centered around sexual assault, the N-word, mass shootings and more.  The gun issue episode was actually delayed until this past week because it was originally slated to be released around the same day as the Congressional baseball game shooting.

Creator and star Jerrod Carmichael spoke out on The Breakfast Club against the network's decision to postpone the episode.

He also issued a statement about the cancellation via his publicist saying:

“For three seasons (okay 2.5), I got to make a show that I love with my friends,” he said. “It’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was 13. Now, I’m excited to go make other things that I love. Thank you to every person who worked on or watched The Carmichael Show.

Comedians Lil Rel, David Alan Grier and Tiffany Haddish also starred on the show, alongside Loretta Divine and Amber Stevens West.

Why won't they let us have nice things?!

In other tv news, "Growing Up Hip Hop" season 3 just got the trailer treatment.  Here's what Romeo, Kristinia, Angela Simmons and the rest will be acting out going through on camera:

For Romeo Miller (Master P’s son), his return home from filming Empire forces him to face his dad who sends him back to his roots in New Orleans to teach him a lesson. But when the ultimate betrayal from his right-hand man turned snake in the grass sparks a brutal confrontation, the empire is put in major danger.

Angela Simmons (Rev Run’s daughter) finds herself caught between her sisters, Vanessa and Daryan, as bad blood from their teenage years comes simmering to the surface. With her sisters at odds, and her fledgling relationship with her fiancé on the rocks, is there any safe harbor for new mom Angela to turn to other than her old flame, Romeo?

Hot to break out in the biz for the second time, songbird Kristinia DeBarge (James DeBarge’s daughter) finds herself the subject of vicious rumors that threaten to derail her comeback. Adding fuel to the fire is a suspect to the throne, a young woman who claims to be the secret love child from James and Janet Jackson’s marriage 31 years ago. Can Kris make it through round two of her never-ending sister saga? Meanwhile, Boogie Dash (Damon Dash’s son) must go deep within himself to confront a secret and when he careens out of control, and finds himself at odds with the law…who will rein in his dark, dangerous tendencies?

Fresh off a move to Hollywood, CA, Egypt Criss (daughter of Sandra “Pepa” Denton) opens the chambers to a family lore and is shaken by the skeletons in her mother’s closet. How will she process her mother’s deep trauma and will their relationship ever be the same? Briana Latrise (Mary J. Blige’s stepdaughter) clashes with the more privileged heirs in the clique, letting her brash and feisty personality make enemies of her former friends. They’ve got the genes and the talents to make it big…but with the flashy family name comes more insurmountable obstacles. Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown…and everything done in the dark must come to the light.

The original "GUHH" premieres Thursday, July 20 at 9pm ET/PT.
