It’s their time to shine!

When ballers give back, it just warms our hearts. And when they’re recognized for their efforts, it makes us beam even more.

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett (blush suit) and his brother/Green Bay tight end Martellus Bennett (blue suit) are helping others in a way we’ve never seen NFL players do before.

Martellus has vowed to donate all of the sales from his football jerseys to after-school programs to help inner city youth. Not only that, he also has founded a children’s book company called The Imagination Agency, a company committed to producing children’s books for kids all over the world.

Meanwhile, Michael pledged to give all of the money he made fro his 2017 endorsement deals to charities that help minorities and the empowerment of black WOMEN. Yes, you read that right. So here for this.

The BET Awards honored both brothers with the Shine Your Light Award for their talents off of the field. And it’s well deserved to say the least. Also, My Black Is Beautiful donated a cool $10,000 on their behalf. Nice!

The brothers have been pretty vocal about issues that feel strongly about. Martellus was one of several players who sat out the Patriots’ visit to Trump’s White house after winning the Super Bowl. His brother Michael didn’t hesitate to call out white NFL players urging them to speak up about the injustices of black people in America.

So yeah, like we said, this was well deserved and we hope they continue to soldier on in their activism movement.

Chi-town’s savior!

Chance The Rapper made headlines when he donated over $2 million to the Chicago Public School system. And now, he’s being showered with praise for his big heart.

Last night, the Chi-town native accepted the Humanitarian Award for all of his work in the community, especially his hometown of Chicago.

At the age of 24, Chance is the youngest recipient of the BET Humanitarian Award and he noted that being honored with the award definitely added on some extra pressure. Nothing he can’t handle though.

Oh, and guess what? Former First Lady Michelle Obama gave him props via a pre-taped video that played right before he took the stage to accept the award.

“To be receiving something like this at my age, it feels a little early to be getting something like this, but my God don’t make mistakes, and I like to think he puts this enormous pressure on me to see how I react," he told the audience.

Chance said he’s just getting started and hopes to become an even bigger influence outside of his community.

He also made a call for social justice, calling out the judicial system for locking up people over marijuana.

“To tell everybody in this government that y’all need to let everybody out of jail for selling weed before you start making it legal for people to sell it and make capital off of it.”

We’d have to agree.
