The nominees for the 2017 BET Awards have been announced!
Beyonce, who’s currently pregnant with twins, scooped up the most nominations, receiving a total 7 nods, including ‘Best Female R&B/Pop Artist,’ ‘Best Collaboration’ with Kendrick Lamar for “Freedom,” ‘Video of the Year,’ and ‘Album of the Year’ for Lemonade.
With rumors that Bey is set to give birth soon, we doubt she’ll make an appearance, but we all remember how she dominated last year’s show with a rousing performance of “Freedom” alongside Kendrick Lamar. Maybe this year she’ll accept some awards via pre-taped videos.
Bruno Mars has been killing the music charts with his track “24K Magic,” so it’s no surprise that he nabbed several nominations. He received 5 nods, including ‘Album of the Year,’ ‘Best Male R&B/Pop Artist,’ and ‘Video of the Year’ for “24K Magic.”
Solange scooped up 4 nominations. She’ll be battling it out against big sis Beyoncé for ‘Best Female R&B/Pop Artist.’ Chance the Rapper and Migos also received 4 nominations. Chance is up for ‘Best Male Hip-Hop Artist’ and ‘Best New Artist’ and Migos are up for ‘Best Group’ and ‘Best Collaboration’ for their #1 hit “Bad and Boujee” with Lil Uzi Vert.
Mark your calendars! The 2017 BET Awards will air live on Sunday, June 25th at the Microsoft Theater in L.A. at 8pm EST. Who are y’all pulling for?
