Joseline Hernandez opens up about her childhood growing up in the projects in Puerto Rico. Find out what she said about the time she got a heroin needle stuck in her foot as child inside…
Joseline Hernandez returns to “The Real” to guest co-host today’s show. During her co-hosting gig, the “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star opened up about what life was like growing up in Puerto Rico before she moved to the United States as a kid.
While Puerto Rico is a vacation spot many people dream of visiting, growing up on the island wasn’t that safe.
The reality star, who recently turned 30, shared a personal story about how a heroin needle got stuck in her foot while playing outside with a friend. Life wasn’t glitz and gold for Joseline in Puerto Rico during her childhood. She said she lived in the projects on the island and that it was infested with drugs during the 80s. The first-time mom shared:
“I went outside, and you know, we loved to go outside without any shoes, you know, Puerto Ricans, and we live like by the beach, so everything is just like whatever, you know.”
She continued “So, I remember one day I was running to go meet my home girl, I was like… a little kid! Um… ran… and I got a needle stuck on my foot. The needle got stuck on my foot, I ran upstairs, my mama took it out, she sat me on the washing machine, she took it off. And she gave me a kiss, I went right off on my business.”
Yikes! Glad she was OK.
Loni Love chimed in, “It’s a hypodermic needle?
“Girl, it was a drug needle!,” Joseline responded. “Girl, you know you can’t use those big words with the Puerto Rican princess!”
Ha!
