The YBF folks who made the TIME 100 Most Influential People list stepped out to celebrate in NYC last night. See flicks of Viola Davis, Ava DuVernay, Colin Kaepernick and his girlfriend Nessa, Leslie Jones and more…
TIME magazine released it's coveted 100 Most Influential People in the World list. And several of our YBF faves made the 2017 cut. To celebrate, TIME hosted their annual gala at Jazz inside the Lincoln Center in NYC to toast it up to this year’s recipients.
When the color purple, Armani and Viola Davis collaborate, this is the fabulousness that ensues. Oscar winning actress Viola Davis was rightfully placed in the Icons category for her extraordinary features on the big screen and television in “How To Get Away With Murder” and FENCES.
Her right hand man/husband Julius Tennon was right by her side to show his support. The Hollywood couple is currently working on a new LIFETIME TV film together titled “Custody,” written and directed by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner James Lapine.
Fab directress Ava DuVernay, who's currently working on A Wrinkle In Time, also made this list this year and she showed up at the gala in a royal blue ball gown for the festivities.
Well aren’t they cute!
While it seems the NFL is blackballing him, Colin Kaepernick is still making moves outside of the organization. The NFL quarterback landed on TIME’s list in the Icons category for his activism.
He brought his girlfriend/HOT 97 radio host Nessa along for the fun.
Oscar winner singer-songwriter John Legend was front-and-center to celebrate landing a spot in the Artists category.
EMMY winner/newlywed RuPaul brought his new husband Georges LeBar to celebrate his spot in the Icons category.
“Saturday Night Live” star Leslie Jones, who nabbed a spot on the Artists category, was all smiles on the carpet in a Tadashi Shoji dress paired with Stuart Weitzman shoes.
Academy Award winning film director Barry Jenkins was named one of TIME’s Most Influential People in the Artists category.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell hit the carpet to show off in an Azzedine Alaïa number.
Olympic fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad was all about the selfie action on the carpet. She looks STUNNING!
“Daily Show” host Trevor Noah and trans activist/author Janet Mock were also in the mix to celebrate the night's honorees.
Women's March National co-chairs Carmen Perez, Bob Bland, Tamika D. Mallory, and Linda Sarsour were all about solidarity on the carpet.
Inside...
Colin was in good spirits, snapping selfies with Leslie and chopping it up with Trevor and Ibtihaj:
When couples link up! “Lip Sync Battle” host Chrissy Teigen came out to support her husband on his big feat. The Legends ran into Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively during the gala.
Viola took center stage to serve up an emotional toast:
So inpirational.
Stand up! John Legend got to work on the piano giving everyone the feels:
Leslie must have said she was going to nab a selfie with EVERYONE she came across. Loves it.
Curvy model Ashley Graham, who nabbed a spot in the Icons category, was in a celebratory mood with her husband Justin Ervin and Demi Lovato, who was tapped for a performance.
