He’s back!
Fresh from several much-needed vacations, former President Barack Obama made it back to his 'adopted' hometown of Chicago for his first public speech since leaving the White House back in January.
Mr. Obama spoke at the University of Chicago for a town hall-style event to chat about how he got his start in politics, community organizing and civic engagement with young leaders from area schools during his two-day trip to Chi-town.
The former president opened the forum with a joke, asking the audience, “So uh, what’s been going on while I’ve been gone?” The crowd burst into laughter, of course.
He continued, “On the back end now of my presidency, now that it’s completed, I’m spending a lot of time thinking about what is the most important thing I can do for my next job?” And what I’m convinced is that — although there are all kinds of issues that I care about and all kinds of issues that I intend to work on — the single most important thing I can do is to help in any way I can prepare the next generation of leadership to take up the baton and to take their own crack at changing the world.”
During his chat, No. 44 said his duty now is trying to help young people change the world. And with all of the madness that’s going on with our current “leader,” he didn’t mention Donald Trump’s name once. Hmph.

His next stop? Mr. Obama will visit Boston to receive the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award on May 7th. He also allegedly just signed on to give a speech on Wall Street....for $400K!
Meanwhile, his wife, former First Lady Michelle Obama, is scheduled to make her return to the spotlight to participate in the 2017 Partnership for a Healthier America Summit to end childhood obesity in Washington, D.C. May 10th -12th alongside former President Bill Clinton.
