Amber Riley and all this winning! Go inside to find out what award she copped at the 2017 Olivier Awards, plus red carpet flicks of Audra McDonald, John Boyega and more inside…
Amber Riley is currently on cloud 9 after her epic night at the 2017 Olivier Awards that was held at Royal Albert Hall in London last night.
The 31-year-old actress scooped up the Best Actress in a Musical award for her role in the stageplay Dreamgirls. The “Glee” star received rave reviews in her West End stage debut as the soulful songstress Effie White. And her incredible performance was recognized by the Society of London Theatre.
To top off her epic win, the fabulous actress slayed the hell out of this red floor length GINA BACCONI gown after receiving her award.
Before she nabbed her award…
The YBF chick worked the red carpet in a midnight blue Tony Ward gown that served up ethereal vibes. She looked like a princess ready to take over an extravagant ball fit for the royals.
Flawless!
Inside...
Amber hit the stage to flex her vocals, leaving the audience in awe.
Following the awards show, Amber took to social media to thank those she forget to mention in her acceptance speech and shared how grateful she is over the honor:
Back on the carpet...
Six Time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald, who stars in the Beauty & The Beast reboot, jetted overseas for the awards show. The new mom, who was tapped to present, showed off her post-baby curves in a teal off-the-shoulder gown.
The Broadway starlet and Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda presented Tim Minchin with the Best New Musical award for “Groundhog Day.”
Star Wars actor John Boyega made his way to the carpet before hitting the stage to present an award.
He awarded John Tiffany the Best Director award for “Harry Potter And The Cursed Child.”
It’s maxi dress season and Tony Award winner Sophie Okonedo showed up on trend.
Our new British fave Michaela Coel worked the carpet in a special piece created by her mother. She stars on (and created!) the hit Netflix series “Chewing Gum.” If you haven’t watched it yet, you should def binge that ish. It’s funny AF.
She caught up with “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” star Noma Dumezweni and snapped a few fun flicks.
Pretty in prints! “The Good Fight” star Cush Jumbo strutted down the carpet in a Burberry number.
She was nominated for an Olivier Award in 2012 as Mark Antony in an all-female cast of Julius Caesar.
Cush and English actor Russell Tovey presented Jamie Parker with the Best Actor award for his role in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.”
Congrats again Amber!
