No more billionaire husband for Janet?! We're not sure what can't possibly be worked out with a billionaire and a miracle baby as a part of your life, but Janet has reportedly split from Wissam Al Mana, her husband of almost 5 years. According to reports, it was the over-controlling lifestyle that Janet was just sick of. And that is understandable.
Page Six reports that they have conflicting sources about whether the split is amicable or not:
Just months after giving birth to her first child at age 50, Janet Jackson has split with billionaire husband Wissam Al Mana.
While one source said the split is amicable and the couple will co-parent their son, others said trouble had been brewing for months.
“She thought he had become too controlling during the pregnancy and she had already allowed him to dictate her appearance and even the way she performed at concerts,” the source who works closely with the couple said.
Apaprently, Janet felt he was far too controlling of her life and career, and she was constantly the only one to compromise:
Other demands that the “Rhythm Nation” singer gave in to included toning down her 2014 concert tour — wearing clothing that covered her body, instead of the skin-revealing outfits fans had grown to love.
She also declined to do music videos that featured any bumping and grinding, trademarks of her work, the source said.
“It drove her crazy and she felt she was losing her fan base.”
Jackson also resented the reclusiveness of her husband, who rarely met with her friends or family, the source said.
Janet was also reportedly pissed about Wissam not caring enough about her mother Katherine Jackson's health and well being:
The last straw for the thrice married “Control” singer was her husband’s reluctance to show concern for Katherine Jackson’s elder abuse claims against her nephew Trent.
Katherine recently returned to Los Angeles after a two month stay in London with Janet.
“That’s when Janet made her decision that there was no turning back,” the source said. “She was worried about her mother — and Wissam showed little to no concern.”
The split comes just months after Janet gave birth to their son Eissa Al Mana at 50-years-old.
Interestingly, back in January 2013 around the time they wed, details of their alleged pre-nup hit the net. According to Star magazine, should their fairytale marriage turn into a straight up nightmare, Janet would be guaranteed a half-a-billion dollars if they divorce after a minimum of five years. This new agreement was drawn up by Wissam AFTER Janet allegedly got cold feet after seeing the first less-favorable-to-her agreement.
Janet is about her coinT. She was reportedly worth $250M by herself.
We're (conveniently) coming up on that 5 year deadline. By the time the divorce is final with all the paperwork we're SURE will ensue from this, she would have likely reached that cut off time.
