TV UPDATES: ‘Insecure’ Season 2 Gets Premiere Date + ‘Weekend Update’ Set To Take Over Summer 2017 + Dave Chappelle’s Netflix Comedy Special Trailer

We’ve got a few television updates we’re sure will get you excited. Season 2 of “Insecure” gets a premiere date, “Saturday Night Live” is set to air new episodes this summer and we have the first look at Dave Chappelle’s upcoming Netflix comedy special. Get it all inside…

 

If you’re obsessed with HBO’s “Insecure” like we are, you’ll be happy to know season 2 just locked in its premiere date. . And all your faves are returning.

Lead star Issa Rae announced the news via an Instagram video while answering all of the show’s fans most burning questions. So, when will the new season premiere? July 23rd!

We can't WAIT! What's going to happen to Issa and Lawrence? We need to know ASAP. Our nerves can't take it.

It was announced last week that actress Amanda Seales will become a series regular for the upcoming season, so we can expect her to shake things up a bit.

Also coming to television this summer...

“Saturday Night Live” fans will no longer have to wait until the fall for a new season of Weekend Update. It's getting its own spinoff!

NBC announced that they will air four half-hour episodes of the show’s “Weekend Update” news sketch, hosted by Michael Che and Colin Jost. The episodes will start airing August 10th at 9pm EST. No more waiting till 11pm EST to check out the show.

They’ll have plenty of material to work with as long as Trump keeps up with his antics.

Coming to Netflix next week...

Dave Chappelle’s Netflix comedy specialis set to premiere next week. And the first sneak peek at the actual shows has just been released. The comedy special will feature two shows: “Dave Chappelle: The Age of Spin (filmed in L.A. in March 2016) and “Dave Chappelle: Deep in the Heart of Texas (shot in Austin in April 2015).

In the trailer, Dave cracks jokes on touchy, controversial topics like ISIS, O.J. Simpson and more with A Tribe Called Quest’s “We the People” playing in the background.
