We celebrate YBF Chicks and all women EVERY day around these parts. This week, International Women’s Day 2017 recognized all of the fabulous WOMEN who have paved the way for women everywhere. Go inside to stan out for women empowerment with celebs…
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. And celebrities hopped on the opportunity to celebrate all of the fabulousness that women exude every day.
Ciara, Kerry Washington, Tracee Ellis Ross, Yara Shahidi and tons more got decked out in their women empowerment gear to salute women everywhere who are making strides in the movement for women’s rights. This year’s theme was #BeBoldForChange, urging everyone to help forge a better working world and a more gender inclusive world.
In collaboration with International Women's Day, tons of people hit the streets for "A Day Without A Women" strike. Women all over took the day off from their jobs to show what the world would be like for a day without a woman. The strike helped to bring attention to "the enormous value that women of all backgrounds add to our socio-economic system -- while receiving lower wages and experiencing greater inequities, vulnerability to discrimination, sexual harassment, and job insecurity," according to the Women's March website.
According to CNN, 13 women were arrested for disorderly conduct in NYC outside the Trump International Hotel and Tower during the "Day Without A Woman" march on Wednesday.
