A decision in the lawsuit Tatyana Ali launched against Warner Bros and Telepictures has been reached. And we’re sure she isn’t happy about it.
Last July, the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” alum pulled the trigger on a lawsuit against Warner Bros, Telepictures and several executives for allegedly stealing her idea for daytime talk show “The Real.”
She said she brought them the concept about a celebrity-hosted talk show geared towards a younger audience in 2012, six months before the show premiered in 2013. And she felt they needed to cough up the dough for stealing her idea.
But, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge didn’t see it that way.
According to Deadline,“the court ruled that the trade secret laws upon which the actress made part of her claim does not protect ideas. Information that would be protected as trade secrets — formulas, methods, techniques and the like — were not claimed by Ali.”
The decision also noted that the new mom failed to produce facts that would be protectable under the trade secret law and that she “voluntarily” revealed her talk show idea.

If you were wondering why Shemar Moore (above, partying in Miami yesterday) abruptly left the hit series “Criminal Minds” last spring, we may have an answer.
The 46-year-old star will make his TV return in a lead role for the upcoming CBS drama pilot “S.W.A.T.” after 11 seasons on “Criminal Minds.” Not only will he star in the series, he’s executive producing it as well. Totally makes sense.
According to Deadline, the series is inspired by the 2003 SONY movie that was based on the 1975 ABC series.
The new drama is described as “an intense, action-packed procedural following a locally born and bred S.W.A.T. lieutenant, Daniel ‘Hondo’ Harrelson (Moore), torn between loyalty to the streets and duty to his fellow officers when he’s tasked to run a highly-trained unit that is the last stop for solving crimes in Los Angeles.”
FUN FACT: Samuel L. Jackson played Hondo in the film version.
The show is written by Aaron Rahsaan Thomas (also an executive producer) and Shawn Ryan, Neal H. Moritz, and Justin Lin are tapped as executive producers.
