Lee Daniels officially has another hit show on his hands. The "Empire" creator's new show "Star" just got picked up for a season 2. The Freshman drama is all about the gritty side of the music industry following the come-up of a girl group that's just trying to survive the back-stabbing, racial tensions, and politics of the entertainment business....and real life.
Queen Latifah, Ryan Destiny, Lenny Kravitz, Tyrese, Quincy Harris, Jude Demorest, Amiyah Scott and plenty more have been bringing the heat every week, so it's only right Fox gave them the greenlight for season 2.
"Star" has been getting an average of 4.46 million viewers an episode, which is far less than "Empire," but still solidifies its place as a Wednesday night heavy hitter.
The show has seen plenty of special guest stars from Missy to Gladys Knight to Joseline Hernandez and more. Paris Jackson is also set to make her acting debut on an upcoming episode.
