Director Kahlil Joseph, the man behind Beyonce’s LEMONADE visual album, serves up a captivating short film, Music Is My Mistress, in collaboration with KENZO’s Spring 2017 campaign.
The 12-minute piece features “black•ish” actress Tracee Ellis Ross, “Grey’s Anatomy” star Jesse Williams, singer/cellist Kelsey Lu (who’s featured on Solange’s A Seat At The Table) and Ish from Shabazz Palaces.
KENZO describes the visually stunning piece as "an amalgamation of rhythms, visions and moods that eschews narrative continuity in favor of divergent glimpses into a bigger story." It shows how “music is much more than mere sound and rhythm. This story casts music herself as the central character of an unfolding drama across cultures, space, and time.”
It’s an artsy piece that soothes the soul and shines light on some #BlackExcellece. Here for all that!
