Jay Ellis isn’t spilling too much tea about his relationship with girlfriend Nina Senicar. He says he likes the mystery of it all. Go inside to hear his response when he’s asked how black women will react when they find out he’s dating a white woman…
Don’t ask Jay Ellis about his relationship status because he won’t tell you too much about it. But, he did spill a little tea about his relationship during a recent interview with Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club” recently.
The “Insecure” star is currently dating Italian model Nina Senicar. They made their red carpet debut at amfAR's Inspiration Gala in October 2015. Even before that event, they were spotted together in Milan, Italy and L.A.
We last saw them together attending the International Medical Corps Annual Awards Celebration in December 2016. And while Jay hasn’t posted any pics of Nina on his social media accounts, she has a few flicks of them together on hers.
“I’m in a very happy relationship and that’s just where I leave it," he told The Breakfast Club. “We give so much of ourselves no matter what we do, so a relationship to me is the most important thing that two people can have. So I value privacy, I value respect, not only for myself but for the person who I’m with. I think everybody has to have their boundaries and mine is I keep my personal life personal. I keep things personal. I keep things private."
Then, Jay’s responses had us a bit confused. While earlier he said he was very happy in a relationship, he then said no one really knows if he’s actually in a relationship. He continued,
“I think there’s something a bit magical about the mystery. You don’t know and you don’t need to know. What I said is, whether I’m with a white woman or not, it’s a mystery and it’s a question. You may know, you may not know. As for who I’m actually in a relationship with, nobody really knows but me….But who said I was [in a relationship]? I’ve never come out and said I’m in a relationship. “
Wait…did he forget he just said he was “very happy in a relationship” when they first started talking? Hmph.
Not everybody can play the coy game,and it comes off thirsty and lame if done incorrectly.
In other news, "Insecure" will start filming the second season in April. He said the writers are already four episodes in, but he has no idea what's going to happen in the new season.
