This will surely put a smile on your face. A North Carolina teacher has come up with a way to get his students fully engaged and it’s all the talk on the Internet. More inside…

Well this is one super cool way for a student to interact with their students.

Barry White Jr. is a fifth-grade literacy teacher at Ashley Park PreK-8 school in Charlotte, North Carolina. And he’s nothing like your ordinary teacher.

While most teachers are greeting their students with warm hellos, Mr. White is welcoming his students with personalized handshakes. It’s a unique way to connect with his students and get them ready to start the school day.

"The most critical component is the relationship, the rapport you build with your students because sometimes it can go underrated or overlooked," Mr. White told WCNC. "Before I'm able to deliver a substantial amount of content to them, they have to invest in the teacher."

He said he got the idea from Cleveland Cavaliers baller LeBron James after seeing the NBA champion dap up his friends during games.

"We collect and collaborate and come up with it together, so a lot of it is based on who they are," Mr. White said. "That's what I love, they came up with it so it's really personalized to their personalities."

Not only does he have a personalized handshake for his students, he also does handshakes with other teachers, students in other grades and volunteers in the school.

"I'm all about bringing joy to people's lives and inspiring others to do so," he said. "That's really why I do (the handshakes), to bring joy to them."
