Rihanna’s Fenty PUMA Creepers were a hit with the Rihanna Navy and sneaker heads. Now, she’s an award winning shoe designer. Go inside to celebrate with RiRi winning the Shoe of the Year Award, plus peep pics of Zendaya, Dascha Polanco and more making their fab arrivals….
When Rihanna released her Fenty x PUMA Creepers last fall, she had no idea that folks would love them as much as she does. But, she was pleasantly surprised to find that out when her sneakers sold out in THREE hours.
Last night, the Bajan beauty was awarded the Shoe of the Year Award (beating out Kanye West) at the 30th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards held at IAC Headquarters in NYC.
As the first woman to be awarded the coveted sneaker award, the “Work” singer said nabbing the award made her “proud to be a woman and proud to be a young woman from Barbados, especially.”
“I didn’t expect people to love it the way I do, and the way they’ve supported it means so much to me,” Rihanna said during her acceptance speech. "All the Creeper fans and all the kids in the street who inspire me by doing things their own way.”

On the carpet…
The fashion maven served up some Janet Jackson “Rhythm Nation” (but with a skirt) vibes rocking an all black sporty “Securite” ensemble by VETEMENTS paired with black blinged out gloves and her Fenty x PUMA Creeper sneakers.
Leaving her apartment, photogs caught flicks of Rih trekking through the rain on her way to the event.
Back on the carpet...
Disney starlet Zendaya, who’s also building her own fashion empire, was absolutely FLAWLESS in a black plunging neckline, ruffle hem Michael Kors dress with mesh sleeves. We're loving the old Hollywood glam she's oozing.
Obsessed with this look!
The 20-year-old was presented with Launch of the Year by Michael Kors for her Daya by Zendaya collection.
Joining her on the carpet, designer Michael Kors was on the scene for the sneaker awards.
Taking a page from Rihanna’s fashion book, “Orange Is The New Black” star Dascha Polanco rolled up on the red carpet in a white faux fur stole topped over a flirty ruffled blouse and black pants. Dascha is also getting her feet in the fashion world as she works on releasing her own clothing line.
On Instagram Dascha captioned this moment,"Caribbean gals! #Respect @badgalriri #CongratsRiri #ShoeOfTheYear @footwearnews #BeingUs #HappyIndependenceDay"
"The People vs. OJ Simpson" star Cuba Gooding Jr., who's up for a Critics' Choice Award, was all smiles as he made his way down the red carpet.
NFLer/fashion fantatic Victor Cruz, who finally returned to the field after 2-years due to an injury, was also on the scene to support.
The bad gal has been named the Queen of Shoes after her Fenty x PUMA sneakers killed the shoe game this year.
In music news, the Bajan beauty's "Work" music video tops Music Choice’s 5th annual video countdown "Music Choice 100," beating out Drake, Adele, Justin Bieber and more. Not only does she hold the #1 spot, her track "Needed Me" landed in the #5 spot and "Kiss It Better" nabbed spot #56 a record-breaking achievement.
Yep, she's still making it "reign" on the music scene too.
