One thing is for sure, T.I. goes HARD for the #BlackLivesMatter movement. And he has NO problem calling out anyone, including celebrities, when they try to condemn the movement.
Lil Wayne stirred up controversy when he made some outlandish comments about the #BlackLiveMatter movement during an interview on ABC’s “Nightline.” You’ll recall, the Young Money honcho said he doesn’t connect to the movement and that his “life matters to his “b*tches.” His belief that he’s a young, black, rich man in America is proof that racism doesn’t exist.
Following the airing of the interview, Wayne attempted to apologize if you want to call it that. And then, he reportedly fired all of his publicists after they tried to convince ABC not to air the interview, but failed.
Well, T.I. got wind of Wayne’s comments via his kids and he’s NOT happy about it. Tip took to his Instagram yesterday to serve up a lengthy open letter to Wayne, calling his comments absolutely unacceptable. And we agree.
“I'm at a complete loss of words here,” Tip said. “Wayne I've known you over a decade. Our relationship outside of music is what makes me sensitive to your disposition. I KNOW you wired a bit different than most other responsible adults, but still n*gga U TRIPPING!!!! I don't know what you goin thru, or what you are attempting to avoid but this sh*t is absolutely unacceptable!!!!
The Grand Hustle honcho went on to say that his comments were disrespectful to his family and that he was setting a bad example for his children and fans who look up to him.
“You're disrespecting yourself, bringing shame on your family name & tarnishing your legacy. You have children (including mines prior to now) that have looked up to you. You have sons & a daughter that depend upon your leadership. Bro if you don't stand for something out here, all the money, jewelry, cars, mansions bandannas & hit records don't mean sh*t!!!!”
Tip offered to educate him on what’s really going on out in these streets and called what he’s doing “buffoonery & coonin.”
“You have to get outta that bubble that you've been living in & get out here & educate yourself on what's going on around US!!! I'm always here to share whatever knowledge or understanding I may have to assist your growth & development,but u MUST STOP this buffoonery & coonin' you out here doin.”
