Kerry Washington just became a mom again, but that isn’t slowing her down.

The “Scandal” star is putting on her producer hat for a brand new ABC comedy titled “Melting Potts.” It’s the second project sold to ABC under her overall production deal with the network, following her police drama “Patrol.” She will develop the ABC comedy via her Simpson Street production company.

According to Deadline, “Melting Potts” (written by Ryan Jaffe) will focus on a blended family made up of equal parts Indian, Muslim Jewish, and New Jersey. It will follow a newly married couple struggling against culture, tradition, and generations to build their idea of a “normal” American family.

Ryan will serve as an executive producer alongside Kerry and her producing partner Sharla Sumpter Bridgett. It doesn’t appear that Kerry will star in the series.

Kerry’s first project under her overall deal, “Patrol,” is a drama about four female LAPD officers who attended the police academy together and are forced to reconnect after a traumatic secret returns to haunt them.

Both projects sound interesting.

On top of shooting scenes for “Scandal,” producing her new projects, being a wife and a mother-of-two, Kerry has her hands full.

Corey Hawkins, who starred in Straight Outta Compton, is gearing up to flex his acting chops on Broadway.

The YBF actor nabbed a lead role in John Guare’s Broadway revival of “Six Degrees of Separation,” inspired by a true story.

The “Walking Dead” star has been tapped to play Paul, a young con man whose trail of lies and deceit lie at the heart of the play. Paul will wiggle his way into the lives of a wealthy NYC couple by saying he knows their son in college.

“Six Degrees of Separation” is set to open April 25th for a 15-week run.

Corey has been putting in work since his breakout role in Straight Outta Compton. He’s gearing up for FOX’s “24”-spinoff “24: Legacy” that debuts February 5th. He has a recurring role in “The Walking Dead,” and he stars opposite Samuel L. Jackson in the King Kong prequel “Kong: Skull Island.”

Congrats!

Oscar winner John Legend has signed on to co-produce the upcoming Broadway premiere of August Wilson’s “Jitney,” marking his first Broadway project. The drama follows a group of men in 1970s Pittsburgh trying to survive by driving unlicensed cabs against opposition from city officials, according to THR.

SELMA star Andre Holland has joined the cast and will play a character named Youngblood. (FYI--He also stars in the recently released drama Moonlight.) The play begins previews December 28th and it will officially open January 19th at MTC’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

The R&B crooner seems to be dead set on promoting theater projects that align with his social activism after becoming a producer of the off-Broadway play "Turn Me Loose," a biographic play about Dick Gregory, starring “Scandal” star Joe Morton.

By the way, John will be taking his talents in front of the camera in the upcoming drama musical La La Land, set to hit theaters December 16th. Get those coins John!
