Over the last eight years, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have hosted music nights at the White House to honor and celebrate music that has shaped America. The Obamas have invited a plethora of performers from all genres over the years, which has been a long tradition at the White House. And last night was R&B night.

BET hosted the “Love & Happiness” event that went down inside a tent on the South Lawn for a night of great music and fun.

POTUS took the podium where he made it clear he would not be flexing his vocals with an Al Green selection. Then, he joked about there being NO twerking during the night’s festivities.

“There will be no twerking tonight. At least not by me. I don't know about Usher,” POTUS said. Ha! We’re SO going to miss POTUS and his jokes.

Before hitting the stage, R&B crooner Usher, who recently released his new album Hard II Love, was spotted all smiles standing next to his wife Grace Miguel.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell was also in the audience. As you can see, she had a few fans in the mix. That guy's face is priceless. Other YBF celebs were in the building, including actors Samuel L Jackson, Jesse Williams and Angela Bassett.

After hitting the stage at the CMT Artists of the Year Awards, our girl Jill Scott opened the night of music with a few selections. She sang "Run Run Run" and "He Loves Me" and killed it, per usual. Following her performance, Common, The Roots, Bell Biv DeVoe, Janelle Monae, De La Soul, Yolanda Adams, Michelle Williams and Kiki Sheard all hit the stage.

Check out Jill's performance along with POTUS' introduction below:
