The Los Angeles Sparks took home the WNBA championship last night after defeating the Minnesota Lynx in a very close game. Super close. The final score was 77-76.
It’s the Sparks’ first WNBA championship since 2002 and they couldn’t have been happier to bring home the title.
The team celebrated their win on the court with Sparks co-owner Magic Johnson. A few years ago the Sparks were in danger of being moved out of L.A., but Magic stepped in and bought the team with an investment group to keep them on the west coast.
Candace Parker was crowned as the Finals MVP. After the win, she gave Magic the biggest hug while thanking him for believing in the team:
Candace tallied up 28 points and 12 rebounds during the game and she dedicated the win to her late former coach Pat Summitt.

The “Country Grammar” rapper has joined FS1’s “Skip And Shannon: Undisputed” to dish on all things sports as a contributor alongside Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe. The new gig comes after Nelly (who’s part owner of the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets) struck a deal with FOX. Nice!
Nelly will begin appearing on the show starting Tuesday, November 1st at 9:30am EST. He's got millions in taxes to pay off, so he's about his coin. Congrats!
