Prima ballerina Misty Copeland is featured in a new ballet book of pictorials, shot by photographer Gregg Delman. And the American Ballet principal dancer serves up an array of breathtaking photos.
While Gregg admits he had only seen one ballet (The Nutcracker) his entire life before meeting Misty, he captures her essence as a ballerina perfectly in his new book simply titled “Misty Copeland.” After seeing Misty featured in a magazine years ago, he knew he had to link up with the budding mogul to photograph her on his camera.
Gregg stepped out on a limb and called up her agent to request to photograph her and the rest was history. And now, here we are. Come thru ambition!
For the shoot, Misty skipped out on a glam squad and did all of her own makeup and wore all of her clothes. The book features 95 stunning pictorials that was released at the end of last month.
“For the majority of our shoots there was no glam squad or walls of wardrobe,” Copeland writes in the book’s introduction. “I did my own hair and makeup, wore my own clothes, and just like that, we’d get to work.”
