Crown him! Kevin Hart is the new king of comedy this year, becoming the world's highest paid comedian. And rightfully so. Get the deets on his new accomplishment inside…
Whether you love him or hate him, there’s no denying Kevin Hart is one of the hardest working comedians in Hollywood right now. Dude STAYS working. And even had time to squeeze in a wedding last month with "his rib" Eniko Hart.
All of the hard work he has been putting in is paying off. Literally. Forbes named Kevin the highest paid comedian in 2016! And guess what? He beat out long reigning top comedian Jerry Seinfield!
According to Forbes, Jerry Seinfield has remained the world’s highest-paid comedian since 2006. But his winning streak has come to an end as Kevin Hart chuckles his way to the top. Given, Jerry made over $40 million without barely leaving the house. And Kevin has barely even seen his house this past year with as much as he works.
Between June 2015 and June 2016, Kevin Hart made $87.5 million—over $30 million more than Seinfeld’s $43.5 million. The Ride Along actor's earnings also place the him in the No.6 spot on Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list. Get it!
So, how did he do it? He tours like no other comedian. Over the last year, Kevin has put on over 100 shows (inside stadiums and arenas) with an average gross of over $1 million at each stop. Sheesh!
Kevin, who has been putting in work in the entertainment world for well over a decade, is also a force to be reckoned with at the box office and on the advertising scene. This year he has starred in Ride Along 2, Central Intelligence and Secret Life of Pets. He has also shot commercials for Hyundai, Foot Locker and H&M. And don’t forget his lucrative partnership with Nike.
Next up for Kev? The release of his new comedy film What Now, also starring Halle Berry, will hit theaters October 14th. And he’s currently filming a Jumanji reboot with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Yeah, looks like he has plans on staying in that No. 1 spot.
