It’s a brown girl takeover! Lupita Nyong’o and the “Eclipsed” cast took their final bow on Broadway. Meanwhile, Chanel Iman hit the scene in NYC to celebrate MIZANI’s 25th anniversary with her model friends. Pics inside….
It’s a wrap! After a successful run, Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o the “Eclipsed” cast gracefully bows out of Broadway.
Starting as an off-Broadway show and then taking over the Broadway stage, the critically acclaimed show, written by playwright and The Walking Dead star Danai Gurira, wowed audiences as they took viewers on a journey about a group of women being held captive in the African nation of Liberia.
Upon closing, the critically acclaimed drama will have played 14 previews and 121 regular performances, according to Playbill.
“Eclipsed” made Broadway history as the first all-female stage play written, directed and acted by black women. Proving the Tony nominated show was one to see, the popular play nabbed SIX Tony Award nominations and won in the Best Costume Design of a Play category (Clint Ramos). *Snaps & a twirl*
The cast and crew – including Akosua Busia, Zainab Jah, Lupita, Danai, director Liesl Tommy, Pascale Armand and Saycon Sengbloh– were all smiles snapping flicks together on their final night at The Lambs Club in NYC.
Producer Marvet Britto, looking gorge in bright orange flirty frock, and lead producer Alia Jones were also in mix.
Fab! Congrats to the ladies on an incredible Broadway run and sprinkling all that black girl magic to the audience every night.
At another event....

Supermodel Chanel Iman slipped into a slinky metallic silver mini dress to celebrate hair care company MIZANI’s 25th anniversary and to launch the Styling Renaissance collection with Global Artistic Director and celebrity hairstylist Cesar Ramirez (he's the one behind Ciara's perfect hair looks!) at New York’s Glasshouse last night.
When you're a bad chick and your friends bad too...
The Victoria's Secret beauty was joined by her model friends Maria Borges, Heidy De la Rosa, and Grace Mahary, whose images appear in MIZANI’s latest influencer campaign. They all served as co-hosts while sporting looks created by Cesar. Gorge!
