Two of our fave shows, “black•ish” & “Empire,” are burning up the red carpet. Peep their carpet ready pics inside….
Following the season 2 finale, “black•ish” is racking up awards to add to their growing list of accolades. On-screen couple Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross attended the 75th Annual Peabody Awards ceremony at Cipriani Wall Street in NYC last night.
The comedy series was honored with an award for their successful and uber funny show. “black•ish” creator Kenya Barris was also in attendance to accept the honor.
Upon taking the stage, Kenya opened up about how he feels when people who are not black say they can relate to the show.“What I’ve learned is the specificity does speak to the universal," said Kenya. "You tell a good story and an honest story – that’s what people relate to.”
He continued, “This award to me is everything. I’d like that other award, but I‘m very happy with this one, forever.”
Never to disappoint, Tracee kept it edgy yet elegant in black high-waisted trousers, a granite printed top and a gold Isabel Marant jacket gifted to her by her brother Evan Ross.
Lovely.
Anthony loves wearing sneakers on a red carpet.
KEANU star Keegan-Michael Key was tapped to host the event.
And "Scandal" showrunner Shonda Rhimes was tapped to present.
The 75th Anniversary Peabody Awards will air Monday, June 6th at 8pm EST on Pivot.
Another fab cast hitting the red carpet...
The “Empire” cast stepped out to attend the “For Your Consider” ATAS event held at Zanuck Theater at FOX studios. Of course Mr. & Mrs. Lyon were there for the screening.
Showing off in a Nina Ricci dress and Casadei sandals, Golden Globe winner and carpet slayer Taraji P. Henson posed it up on the carpet.
Terrence wife Mira Pak popped up on the carpet to announce she and Terrence are expecting their 2nd child together. This is baby #5 for the "Empire" star. Get all the deets on the pregnancy HERE.
Yes, Jussie Smollett was there because he's not leaving the show, despite that confusing tweet that alluded to leaving the show.
Bryshere “Yazz” Gray showed up rocking a new haircut. It’s likely for his role in the New Edition biopic where he’s set to play Michael Bivins.
Beautifully blue! Singer/actress Serayah styled in a blue Dsquared pantsuit and nude Stuart Weitzman sandals accessorized with a Edie Parker box clutch.
Newlyweds Trai Byers and Grace Gealey were all wrapped up in love for their 2nd red carpet appearance since tying the knot a few weeks ago.
Mrs. Byers glowed in a black netted Cynthia Rowley dress paired with a Jimmy Choo clutch and shoes.
Looking good Trai!
Gabourey Sidibe was also in the mix in a cute spring frock for the screening. Fab times!
