*Squeals!* Prima ballerina Misty Copeland just nabbed her own Barbie! We've got the first look at the gorgeous doll and Misty's big reveal inside....
It's only right the first black principal dancer at the American Ballet Theater is commemorated in doll form. Misty Copeland, who's an absolute doll herself, revealed the new Barbie doll made by Mattel in her likeness and honor. The iconic doll company definitely did her justice as the figure reflects her performance of "Firebird."
The description of the doll reads:
As the first African American female Principal Dancer with the prestigious American Ballet Theatre, Misty Copeland is an inspirational star, paving the way for future dancers all over the world! Her fire red bodysuit, with sunburst orange tulle cutouts, stretches over her perfectly poised body, while layers of red and orange tulle tease a luxurious red tail. A vibrant tulle headpiece tops off her elaborate look, adding drama and flair. The doll features a brand-new ballerina body, with a face sculpted to Misty's likeness!
Here are more of the first pics:
Every little ballerina and dreamer NEEDS this. So Misty had a few adorable ballerinas accompany her on "Good Morning America" today as she made the big announcement, and the little girls even nabbed a Misty doll of their own.
Sweet!
The Misty Barbie is available for purchase now HERE. The dancer and documentary maker will be walking the red carpet at tonight's MET Ball. We can't wait to see her fabulousness make that iconic arrival!
