Poor Ashanti! The R&B singer was back in court with her alleged stalker this week and things got a little ugly in the court room. Deets inside….
Ashanti has been dealing with this stalker for YEARS and all she wants is for him to STOP!
The 35-year-old R&B songstress returned to the Manhattan Supreme Court only to be tortured by her imprisoned alleged stalker Devar Hurd, 37. The Grammy Award winner had to sit through her stalker cross examining her for the third time on Wednesday while he acted as his own attorney. And ish got….nasty.
Devar questioned Ashanti about why HE is facing a felony stalking charge after tweeting some derogatory messages to her back in 2013. He read some of his tweets directly and didn’t censor anything.
He read things like “eating p*ssy from the back tastes better from a flight to Russia.” He asked Ashanti if she remembers the tweet, in which she responded, “I saw the disgusting tweet and was insulted.”
Devar continued,“Why didn’t you tell me to stop or block me? I know how you are when it comes to our sex life…us f*cking is very emotional on both ends.”
Ashanti reportedly said nothing after that comment and simply crossed her arms. Dude is delusional.
Being on the stand for the third time, she made it clear she had nothing else to say to him. “You continuously tweeted over and over again disgusting, derogatory, disrespectful things to me after you had already gone to jail for doing the same thing,” Ashanti testified.
Then, she begged him to just STOP! “I wish you to stop,” she said.“I just wish you to stop.”
Poor thing.
We’re sure the drawn out trial is weighing heavy on Ashanti. Devar was convicted in 2009 for stalking and harassing the singer and her family by sending disturbing tweets on Twitter and sexually explicit texts (like pictures of his genitals) to Shanti’s momager Tina Douglas.
Devar continued trying to sway the jury:
"Ladies and gentlemen, the business we work in is sexually explicit. What adult things you may be involved with — that's your business. She's trying to take any explicit stuff and make it look criminal," he babbled on.
According to NY Daily News, Devar’s first trail back in December 2014 ended in a mistrial due to a juror getting ill during deliberations. Then, he was back in court this past October where he was convicted on several counts, but the jury couldn’t reach a verdict on the major count -- stalking in the second degree.
Devar is facing up to four years in the big house if he is found guilty. If he is sentenced the maximum four years, he won’t be in there too much longer as he has been locked up since 2013. Sighs….
