Nia Long was honored at UPTOWN’s pre-Oscar gala in L.A. Meanwhile, Zendaya got up close and personal with her fans at a private event in NYC. Pics inside…
This YBF needs no introduction.
The gorgeous Nia Long was celebrated at the “UPTWON Honors Hollywood” pre-Oscar gala held at Lure nightclub to honor her illustrious career. We grew up watching the three-time NAACP award winner slay every role she starred in. She performed some of her most memorable roles in John Singleton’s Boyz n the Hood, Love Jones, The Best Man, and Big Momma’s House (to name a few). Nia has always been one of our YBF favorites and we love seeing folks getting their "flowers" while they can still smell them.
Nia's Love Jones co-star Larenz Tate made sure he was in the building to honor his former co-star and friend.
Actress Vivica A. Fox came out to show some love rocking a white sheer paneled Versace dress. Aunt Viv and Nia starred in the hit comedy-drama Soul Food together.
After being honored at the Black Women In Hollywood luncheon, entertainment attorney Nina Shaw came out to support and celebrate Nia.
Werk! Life coach Iyanla Vanzant flaunted her curves in this bright orange curve-hugging dress.
New “Scandal” star Cornelius Smith Jr., with the sexy GQ stare, was in the mix to celebrate.
"Being Mary Jane" star Salli Richardson-Whitfield hit the carpet looking her usual beautiful self. That dress has a lot going on though.
Actress and personal trainer A.J. Johnson struck a pose on the carpet.
TV personality and journalist Shaun Robinson was all smiles on the carpet.
Comedian Bill Bellamy, who starred in Love Jones with Nia, and his wife Kristen Bellamy came out to celebrate his longtime friend. Are we feelin' Bill's blazer?
Inside...
Nia was overjoyed with the honor, thanking everyone for their continued support.
Nia’s bestie and Best Man Holiday co-star Regina Hall was there to celebrate her friend's big honor.
One of Nia's closest friend Daphne Wayans was also in the mix to celebrate.
UPTOWN CEO Len Burnett Jr. and actor Chris Spencer, who served as host, snapped it up with the lady of the evening.
R&B singer Estelle has been heavy on the L.A. scene and made sure she was in attendance to honor Nia.
"America's Next Top Model" runway coach J. Alexander chopped it up with Aunt Viv during the event. Then Viv hit the stage with director John Singleton:
Fab times!
At another event...
Cover Girl ambassador Zendaya hosted a private event for her fans at the Black Tap restaurant in NYC.
With her new track "Something New" playing in the background, the Disney starlet had ice cream goodies for her fans to enjoy.
We see Daya ditched the cropped pixie cut trading it in for a blonde textured bob.
On the carpet, she snapped it up with President of Republic Records Group Charlie Walk. Nice!
Take a listen to Daya's track "Something New" featuring Chris BrownHERE.
