The Black History Month celebration continues at the White House!

Yesterday, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama hosted guests at the White House for a reception to honor all of the African-Americans that broke race barriers, slaves who helped build this country and the heroes who marched for equality and justice for us all.

As POTUS welcomed everyone to the White House, one lady yelled out “Heeeeey Michelllle!” with POTUS responding“Heeeeey.” Then he said, “We know it’s Black History Month when you hear someone say ‘Heeeey Michelle! Giiiirl! You look so good!”

We die! Check it below:

Hilar!

The festivities continued with POTUS welcoming members of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s family into the Oval Office to see MLK’s bust for the first time. MLK’s son Martin Luther King, III, along with his wife Andrea King and their daughter Yolanda King, and MLK’s daughter Bernice King.

BLACK HISTORY FACTS: MLK’s statue became the first image of an African-American to be displayed in the Oval Office after it replaced the Winston Churchill bust. MLK’s bust also became the first image of an African-American in ANY public space in the White House.
