This just in: Rihanna has left the building! Deets inside on her leaving the Staples Center and cancelling her GRAMMY performance just minutes ago...
Rihanna was scheduled to perform at tonight's GRAMMY Awards, but according to reports, she left the Staples Center today...on doctor's orders.
TMZ reports she's been battling bronchitis with meds. Unfortunately, even after two GRAMMY performance rehearsals, the doctor on site told her she must pull the plug or she could permanently damage her vocal chords.
Interestingly, Rihanna has been quite busy on both coasts all weekend. She debuted her FENTY x PUMA collection at NYFW on Friday. Then she jetted to LA to rock the stage at the 2016 MusiCares Person of the Year event honoring Lionel Richie on Saturday.
Rihanna's rep tells Just Jared in a statement:
“Based on Rihanna‘s examination, after Grammy rehearsal today, Rihanna‘s doctor put her on vocal rest for 48-hours because she was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal chords. The antibiotics she has been on for 3-days did not kill the infection adequately therefore she cannot perform safely.”
