It's MLK Day, which means today is a National Day of Service.  Check out how the Obamas are celebrating, plus get one of Dr. King's rare speeches in full inside...

Today in D.C., President Barack Obama& First Lady Michelle Obama visited Leckie Elementary School in D.C. today to participate in a day of service project with AmeriCorps.  The First Couple was pictured busily getting things done with the kids and military families as a perfect example of one way to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on this day.

In celebration of the First Lady's Let's Move! initiative, the President and First Lady put together a garden bed, planted vegetable seeds and packed bags with books for those in need, including a copy of Dr. Seuss's "Oh the Things You Can Do that are Good for You!"  Nice!

While Dr. King's famous quotes about peace, love, justice and equality are floating around the internet all day today, the Nobel Peace Prize Organization just released the famed orator and civil rights activist's full Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech from 1964.

At the age of 35, King (pictured above receiving a birthday cake from Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis), was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize.  It's not surprising that the man who made his entire life's purpose a search for equality and justice, put the prize money in a much needed place. He announced that he would turn over the prize money of $54,123 to further the civil rights movement.

The speech is a rare find, usually only pieces of the speech are heard and this is the organization's first time formally releasing the speech in its entirety.

Check out a snippet below, and get the full actual video of the speech HERE.
