Amber Rose is dropping financial gems for those looking to make a come up saying women should use their seduction skills to get money from men. Oh? More inside….
Budding actress and author Amber Rose (above getting her nails down in L.A. yesterday) sat down with TIME magazine to chop it up about her recently released self-help book “How To Be A Bad B*tch.” And her comments about seduction have sparked controversy.
The Sister Code actress starts out giving advice to a new set of future female entrepreneurs. She said she feels like she’s in the position to give sound advice because she has already made many financial mistakes that she hopes to help others from making. (SIDENOTE: Amber revealed she made $1million in 2011 and spent it all before she could pay the taxes on it. She eventually paid off Uncle Sam though. No word on if she received financial help from a significant other to do so, as she suggests women should do in this interview.)
The 32-year-old entrepreneur first shared one should research the industry they’re trying to break into inside out. But then, her advice goes a little left:
“As women, we’re fortunate enough to use our seductive skills in order to be able to get money from our significant others. I also talk about seduction in the book. A lot of women don’t know how to seduce a man. It is extremely easy once you get to that point, and you can get anything you want out of them. And I know it might sound messed up, but once you get to that point, it’s not using. It’s not using a man, it’s literally getting what you want by any means necessary.”
Yeah...the look on our faces was similar to that of the nail tech above.
As much as she has been on the feminism wave and encouraging women empowerment, one would think Amber would encourage women to go out, hustle and make their own coins rather than seducing a man out of his wallet. Financial support in any relationship CAN be beneficial...but depending upon it by way of seduction is a little...hairy.
And remember when she went off on GQabout dumbing her down and simply labeling her as someone's ex? Sighs...
She also spoke about her business skills being born out of the strip club:
“Being a dancer definitely was like being in business school,” she says, “because I constantly spoke to people. I mean, I literally had to persuade a man to give me money out of his pocket. And I apply that to my daily life. Even getting a book, you have to have an initial meeting—Hi, Simon and Schuster!—with the publisher, and you have to sell yourself.”
Amber then defends the right to be called an entrepreneur. She said being a stripper has nothing to do with her accomplishments and being capable of running her own business. She spilled,
“The fact that I was a stripper does not take away the fact that I’m smart, that I am witty, that I am capable of running my own business. There’s famous guys that were drug dealers back in the day, and no one ever brings up that fact. But as a woman, they bring up the fact that I was a hustler. And it’s extremely unfair, and I just don’t tolerate it.”
