Taraji P. Henson appeared on "Ellen" where she recapped her EMMY night, shared some "Cookie" one-liners and talked about bringing her family out on the red carpet. Watch it inside....
Earlier today, Emmy nominees Taraji P. Henson appeared on "ELLEN" (in a pre-taped sit down) where she recapped her night at the Emmys. In the photo below, Taraji posed with four generations of her family (including her 21-year-old son).
While talking to Ellen, Taraji said she was proud to bring her 91-year-old grandmother to the ceremony and on the red carpet with her.
She also shared her feeling about Viola's win despite being up for an Emmy in the same category herself.“I think the universe is happy. Viola deserved that award. And honestly it would have felt weird if I had gotten it over her. … She’s been doing it longer. You’ve just got to give respect and know when your time is.”
She went on to praise Viola's speechsaying, "I love what she said. If the roles don’t exist then you can’t even be nominated and you can’t have a chance to win. So, you have to create the roles first, and thank God for people like Shonda Rhimes. And I feel like the universe needed to hear that message too.”
Agreed Taraji!
