In our music bits, we've got a new single from Timbaland, deets about Kendrick Lamar's upcoming late-night tv performance and great chart news for Drake.  Go inside....

Earlier in the week Timbaland teased some unreleased music from Aaliyah, now he's back with some "new" music of his own featuring "Empire" starlet V. Bozeman.

The track is called "Smile" and will appear on his first album in nearly six years, dubbed Opera Noir. Also, he's still at the helm as music producer for the second season of “Empire,” which stars on Sept. 23rd on Fox.

We've learned that rapper Kendrick Lamar will be the first-ever musical guest on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

K-Dot and Mr. Colbert clearly have some "tv chemistry" going on as he was also the last musical guest on his Comedy Central show, “The Colbert Report.”

Stephen made the announcement during a speech at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Monday saying, “My last musical guest [on ‘The Colbert Report’] was Kendrick Lamar, and I would love for him to be my first musical guest. In fact, he will be my first musical guest.”

“The Late Show” kicks off on Sept. 8th. George Clooney will serve as his first guest alongside Kendrick.

Drake is the talk of the music industry this week. Why? Well...he's got the stats! This week alone, Drake debuted FOUR songs on the Billboard Hot 100.

Here's how his feat played out: “Back to Back” (debuted at No. 21); “Hotline Bling” (debuted at No. 66); “Charged Up,” (debuted at No. 78) and his song "100" with The Game (at No.100).

But there's more, he also appears on ’ Meek Mill’s “R.I.C.O.,” (at No. 57) and Future’s “Where Ya At?” (No. 89).

His chart domination comes in the same week that his album If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late was certified platinum after selling 1 million units. Mind you, its the FIRST album of 2015 to reach that status.

Go Drizzy!
