And another one! Mike Colter might be the man in Harlem as Luke Cage, but he's totally outnumbered at home. His and wife Iva's baby announcement inside...
It's a house full of ladies for Mike Colter! The super sexy "Luke Cage" & "Jessica Jones" star announced he and his Netflix executive wife, Iva Colter, announced they're expecting their second child, another baby girl. They're also parents to little Naiella, who just turned 3.
The twosome shared the news with the friends, fans, co-stars and Netflix co-workers at the company's huge "Luke Cage" season 2 premiere party last night at the Edison Ballroom in NYC. And they did it by pulling up on the red carpet flexing the 6-month baby bump.
Mike was all smiles all night, of course. Mike told media in the press room:
“We are feeling happy but a bit nervous as well. It’s a new member of the family,” said the couple.
“While it will shift focus for us again, our daughter will probably be affected the most, so we are making sure she feels comfortable and excited with the change to our growing family,” they added.
"Luke Cage" writer and producer Cheo Hadari Hoker also told the news to everybody inside.
By the way, the first episode shown at the premiere was laced with Mike in another super steamy sex scene with co-star Rosario Dawson (who plays nurse and his girlfriend Claire Temple). We're sure Iva's used to the acting and all, but still. Sheesh.
Congrats to the couple!
Seson 2 of the hit Netflix show is now on Netflix. And yeah, Luke can still get it.
It's a Versace faceoff between Remy Ma and Kash Doll. Both ladies rocked a pair of the brand's colorful printer leggings accessoriezed with their own swag. Decide who rocked them best inside...
Remy Ma and Kash Doll are feeling Versaces "The Lovers" print leggings as both ladies has been spotted rocking the colorful print recently.
The NYC rap star served up an impromptu balcony photoshoot in the printed Versace leggings with a black and gold Versace tee and red Jimmy Choo pumps. She finished her look with a Gucci hair piece to hold back her long black wavy tresses.
This vegan lifestyle is looking good on Rem.
Rapper Kash Doll rocked the lover leggings while performing at the BET Experience. She paried them with a colorful strapless corset top and black thigh high boots.
Safaree Samuels is making his rounds at the BET Experience Weekend events and at rehearsals this AM with security on 100 as he was booked to host the pre-festivities over the last few days. This is how he arrived at rehersals this morning. And we can't even blame him.
Peep the clip above.
He's likely taking extra precautions after he was robbed at gunpoint back in April. And then with the recent death of rapper XXXTentacion, you can never be too careful. Smart move.
Outside of that, it seems he was having a blast hosting events and performing during the BET Experience:
BET Awards kicked off with a bang, well, a back-handed slap. And you can thank Nipsey Hussle. The must-see video footage of the drama that just went down inside....
Parking lot attendants and "traffic cops" do irk our nerves when we've got places to be and ish to do. Nipsey Hussle, however, took his irritation to a while new level though.
While pulling up to the Microsoft theater earlier today for BET Awards pre-show rehearsals, the "Last Time That I Checc'd" rapper's people tried to move some cones to get into a blocked off area. He was reportedly late for said rehearsals, so he did what we all want to do when we need those stupid orange cones to move - turned all the way up.
He may have taken ish a bit too far though. When the "security" went off on his entourage for entering a secured area, everybody hopped out the car. Nipsey's bodyguard had one of the orange cones n his hands, and the security person knocked it out. Then, Nipsey backhand slapped him without even missing a beat. Damn!
Unnecessary, but sheesh. The footage has gone viral, obvi.
Other security hopped in and held Nipsey back while the other dude tried to square up. Surprisingly, he wasn't arrested. And he did make it to his pre-show performance.
We're not exactly sure why he's rocking this ridiculous wig, however, we do he's got a new movie on deck. He'll be starring opposite Danny Glover, Tessa Thompson, and Omari Hardwick in Sorry To Bother You, set to hit select theaters on July 6th and everywhere else on July 13th.
Former "Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood" star and new mom Alexis Skyy decided to hit the carpet in a very risqué ensemble. No pasties. Nothing. She sparkled in a Grayling Purnell dress and left little to the imagination.
Ayeeeee! SZA just copped her first BET Award and she had a message for the generation looking up to her. More inside...
Congrats are in order for one of our faves, SZA! The ethereal & soulful songstress just copped her first BET Award. She won Best New Artist and it was one win out of four nominations, which included Album of the Year, Best Female R&B Pop Artist and the Coca-Cola Viewer's Choice.
After T.I. and Yvonne Orji presented TDE's first lady her award, the "Love Galore" singer was on her nervous ish as she took center stage, but she had a message for those who look up to her.
"I just wanted to say to anybody that's watching, that's in school, or just in the world lost, or they feel like they dont know what their purpose is, just follow your passion, ignore everyone, try to stay in gratitude it'll make the wack stuff feel better. Just believe in yourself. I didn't even believe in myself and things like this are happening to me, so, it can happen to anybody. God bless everyone, she said.
Other big wins of the night: Tiffany Haddish won the Best Actress Award, Cardi B copped the Coca-Cola Viewer's Choice Award, Nicki Minaj got Best Female Hip Hop Artist, Black Panther won the Best Movie Award and the Migos won the Best Group Award.
It was all good just a day ago. Reginae Carter was cheering on her bae at the Sprite Celebrity game, then YFN Lucci had to go to a party full of strippers. Now the extra raunchy video has his relationship about to catch a lick. Deets inside...
All the BLOOPS!
Before you ask why men in very public relationships feel the need to do the absolute most with butt naked strippers and broadcast it to the world...rapper YFN Lucci may have secured a bag to do this. We know Nae wouldn't want to stop his coin, but maybe it's time to find a new way to get the bag?
After Reginae and her rapper boyfriend YFN Lucci left the Sprite pre-BET Awards BET Experience celebrity basketball game Saturday, Lucci headed over to Memphis rapper Blac Youngsta's super crazy house party. We hear it was an official one that had promoters and "hostng gigs" attached, so Lucci was all in the mix and was likely paid to be there to party.
And so were all these strippers:
Blac Youngsta and his homies got everything on IG Stories and probably Snapchat. And we mean EVERYTHING. Youngsta deleted his ish when things started going viral.
Things clearly got crazier as the night went on. Check the videos (and it's absolutely NSFW, or not safe for your eyes even, TBH):
Nicki Minaj's BET Awards performance was...many things. Peep her stripper-esque moves and more inside...
Nicki Minaj hit the stage inside the Microsoft Theater for a performance during the 2018 BET Awards. And...it was many things to the say the least.
One thing's for sure, she's def got Twitter's patent leather panties in a wad. Like, she had to do the absolute most. The Young Money rapper was performing in front of her exes Safaree Samuels, Meek Mill and her rap nemesis Remy Ma. Chile we would have pulled out everything but our wig glue to slay on 'em.
But lety of folks weren't feeling it, and the shade was realer than real.
First, she performed her lead single "Chun-Li" from her forthcoming album QUEEN, set to drop August 10th. Chick crawled on the ground, tooted and booted, threw open legs, and all that jazz.
Then, she stripped off her Asian-inspired red and black robe to serve up a super sultry...damn near raunchy...performance of her new single "Rich Sex," featuring Lil Wayne. He didn't come up, but she made up for it with her stripper-esque moves. She wrapped her performance by bringing out rappers YG, 2 Chainz and Big Sean to perform their new collaboration track "Big Bank" after changing her outfit and coming out on top of a pink horse.
Everybody that’s commenting on Nicki Minaj‘s performance sound stupid that lady literally PLAYED in everybody’s face LAUGHED in everybody’s face rolled around in everybody face and called them bitches, she said fuck the BET awards and fuck all of the MAD doggies and i LIVED!
That's a wrap on the 2018 BET Awards. Find out every single winner inside...
While most of the Jamie Foxx-hosted show was full of performances, BET managed to squeeze in a few awards at the 2018 BET Awards at Microsoft Theater in L.A. And we got to see even fewer be announced.
Michael B. Jordan & Ryan Coogler accepted Black Panther's big win, Chadwick Boseman is still our King, Cardi B. reinforced her place as the reigning hip hop Queen, SZA finally copped an award, Tiffany Haddish is still chillin' in the comedy Queendom, and Beyoncé is still...Beyoncé.
Cardi wasn't there to pick up her Best HIp Hp Female Artist and the Coke Viewers Choice Awards, but she def chimed in on IG:
The crowd may have been dead inside last night's BET Awards, but young Hollywood pulled up with the boldness outside on the white carpet. Check it all out inside...
The Microsoft Theater was the place to be last night if you were in L.A. for the 2018 BET Awards. Reginae Carter and YFN Lucci seemed to be back on their happy couple steez after YFN went viral for his...money stuffing...of strippers the other night:
Nae rocked a floral and embellished two piece halter look while boo'd up with her man on the carpet.
Speaking of coupledom, our young faves Keith Powers ("Famous In Love") and Ryan Destiny ("Star") are still boo'd up heavy. And so cute. These outfits they chose are eyebrow raisers, for sure. But we love a couple who can take a risk together.
T.I. may be on the outs with wife Tiny Harris after getting caught backstage with another woman last week, but at least his two oldest sons are still rocking with him after he said his youngest ones were not:
(L-R) Domani Harris, T.I. and Messiah Ya' Majesty Harris had their dad's back on the carpet, even though he didn't really deserve it.
TI's got a new show called "The Grand Hustle" hitting BET soon.
Cuties Chloe & Halle pulled some risky looks out their loc'd and braided crowns.
The "Grownish" stars, who are on Beyonce's label Parkwood Entertainment, have a brand new album out that just dropped called The Kids Are Alright.
Normani Kordei is officially a solo act after breaking away from Fifth Harmony (and honestly, it was the best move for her). She served up throwback Mariah Carey steez on the carpet:
Chick is gorgeous and slays a stage. We just want to now why she wasn't on the lineup this year to help save that show.
Rapper Asian Doll copped a Maybach Music deal with Rick Ross. Now she's living out her dreams, barely dressed on red carpets and ish.
Two of our fave little sisters in our heads, Amandla Stenberg and Storm Reid, showed up with bomb hair, perfect makeup for a YBF Teen, and projects galore to promote. Amandla debuted her new trailer with Regina Hall for The Hate You Give while A Wrinkle In Time star Storm is filming new projects and soon to release her tv movie Euphoria.
Christian Combs is holding down the Combs name for his dad Diddy. The budding rapper kept it extra casual on the carpet while arriving to turn up at the pre-show with a performance (Cassie wasn't the only one he hooked up with a pre-show job). Then, King Combs changed clothes to enjoy the show with model girlfriend Breah Hicks.
"Grownish" star Trevor Jackson went from Superfly to...this...on the carpet. He performed at the pre-show and did some hosting inside during main show.
We can always leave it to Skai Jackson to bring the fashionista vibes.
Lonnie Chavis is getting tall! The "This Is Us" cutie is definitely growing up, and Gucci'd down.
Rainaaaaaa! Tariq's twin may have been killed on "Power," but Donshea Hopkins is still very much out here living her best YBF Teen acting life.
Woody McClain is about to KILL his role as Bobby Brown (again) in the upcoming "Bobby Brown Story" on BET.
"Empire" star Bryshere Gray rocked all white for the carpet.
We love everything about Amara La Negra. The LAHH star & singer may have been hot AF on that carpet in all these clothes, but this yellow is poppin' on her skin.
Serayah not only makes super bold choices as Tiana Brown on "Empire," but she sometimes shows up to red carpets in real life like this. She rocked this Alice McCall concoction to shine for her entrance.
And Tyler James Williams is growing up FINE.
The 25-year-old "Everybody Hates Chris" turned "Dear White People" star is now shooting a new movie called The Wedding Year. And we're already here for it.
The 2018 BET Awards may have been a snoozefest for some. However, a few entertainers hit the stage with important messages. Get into J. Cole, Meek Mill and Janelle Monae's powerful messages inside...
The 2018 BET Awards performances left us with some performances to keep us all "woke" out in these streets.
Rapper J. Cole brought the "woke"vibes when he hit the stage to perform his track "Friends," a cut from his No. 1 hit album K.O.D. released in April 2018.
It was his first televised performance since dropping his newest album.
He called up fellow rapper Wale, who made a silent cameo and singer Daniel Caesar to provide the background vocals.
The track starts with Cole having dialogue about addiction and how complicated it can be when someone is addicted to drugs. He offered up a solution to those battling demons: Meditation. And we all could use some daily.
The MMG rapper served up a captivating performance of his new single, "Stay Woke," featuring Miguel. The "Dreams & Nightmares" rapper transformed the stage into Philly's vicious streets that are riddled with gun violence, police brutality and poverty.
Meek had everyone's emotions high when a scene of a mother crying over her child's slain body took center stage. The Philly rapper also paid homage to two slain rappers, XXXTentacion and Pittsburgh rapper Jimmy Wopo, rocking a hoodie with potraits of the rappers on the front and back.
On the carpet, he rocked a white tee shirt with the word "FREEDOM" writtern across the front.
The singer, in her signature black and white threads, flexed her raps skills while sitting on throne as she performed her single "Django Jane," a song that touches on the criticism of women's bodies and silencing their voices.
The ArchAndroid then slid into her performance of "I Like It" bringing some pop flava to her performance.
Migos and Snoop Dogg hit the stage at the 2018 BET Awards and everyone has an opinion about their performances. Get into their sets inside...
Migos' music may get you hype once you hear the beat drop. But, apparently, folks aren't feeling their live performances.
Before taking home the Best Group Award, the Atlanta trio hit the stage to perform a medley of their hits "Walk It Like I Talk It" and "Stir Fry." Both tracks will have you slow twerking and hittin' a lil' two-step. However, their performance didn't wow many...well, except gospel singer Yolanda Adams.
Migos took home the Best Group Award after being nominated in four categories, including Video of the Year, Album of the Year and the Coca-Cola Viewers' Choice Awards, which Offset's fiance Cardi B won.
Rapper Snoop Dogg took us all to church last night during the 2018 BET Awards.
Snoop, who was nominated for the BET Award for Best Gospel/Inspirational Artist for his track "Words Are Few," featuring B. Slade, closed the show in an epic way. After opening his set with "Who Am I? (What's My Name?)" and "The Next Episode," the legendary rapper brought the gospel feels.
The Long Beach native performed two tracks from his album Bible of Love, which was released earlier this year. He was joined by singer Sly Pyper for a performance of "Sunrise," followed by Tye Tribbett hitting the stage to perform his collaboration track with Snoop titled "You." Snoop had a whole church choir to provide the background vocals. And his set literally ran from one commercial break to the next. Literally.
Below are a few reactions to Snoop's performance:
Snoop Dogg is showing how church should really be: Come as you truly are and we will give you God and love. #BETAwards
Joie Chavis, who shares a daughter with Bow Wow, is rumored to be pregnant. And the tea is that Future is allegedly the father. Deets inside...
Well this is a Monday for the books! Bow Wow may have just added one more ex-in-common with rapper Future. His ex-girlfriend and mother of his 7-year-old Joie is rumored to be pregnant with Future's child, even though they reportedly broke up a couple moths ago.
About 9 months ago, Joie and Future were boo'd up on Instagram stories with the rapper giving her a Rolex for her birthday and then spending NYE together a couple moths later. This was just a little while after Joie and Bow Wow tried to rekindle what they had.
This past April, Future seemingly got back with one of his umpteen baby's mothers, Brittani, so he and Joie were seemingly over.
Fast forward to this weekend, and choreographer/dancer Joie posted up a few pics that now have folks saying she's pregnant, and hiding it. The pic atop looks like she has a normal flat tummy at first glance. But if you know Joie, you know she has a figure 8 shape and is probably no stranger to photoshop.
She posted another pic from a friend's kid's birthday party this weekend:
But there is another pic from the side floating around showing a protruding belly. And she's covering her tummy in both pics, not a typical move of hers.
She's been absent from her IG timeline for the last month, and she usually posts a few times a week and sometimes daily. So, this is definitely plausible.
She hasn't confirmed or denied things....yet.
This would make for at least Future's 6th or 7th child if true.
There's no backing down from this one, and invasion of privacy or not (see what we did there?), Cardi and Offset's got some explaining to do. The two have been talking about a potential wedding special and wedding planning for months. Not to mention, they kept saying there was nothing to the fact they both keep calling each other "husband" and "wife" publicly.
Just hours after the news hit, Cardi now admits, she and Offset indeed got married around 9 months ago. But it didn't go down how you think. Offset literally rolled over in bed one morning (morning breath and all we assume), and asked her to marry him. She said yes, and they did the ceremony THAT DAY with an officiant in their bedroom. Only Cardi's cousin was a witness.
The ceremony was sans hair, makeup, rings, and reportedly sans a baby bump. They were just Belcalis and Kiari.
Offet allegedly dropped that random proposal on her before they knew she was pregnant, this according to TMZ. Cardi saying 'Yes' AND marrying him the same day was just them being 20-something and spontaneous. Mmmhmm.
Sources close to the couple tell TMZ ... the Migos rapper woke up one September morning, looked at the "Bodak Yellow" rapper in the eye and straight-up said, "Marry me." She obviously said yes but, believe it or not, that impulse was only the beginning.
We're told, that same day Offset and Cardi -- who at this point, we're told was not pregnant -- hired an officiant to come to the house and marry them in their bedroom. The only person besides the officiant to witness the nuptials was Cardi's cousin.
We guess their in-home honeymoon is when they went half on Baby Bardi.
And about that engagement, it supposedly was more of Offset keeping his promise to give her a ring:
It was such a spur-of-the-moment decision, there was obviously no time for an engagement ring, much less a wedding band. That brings us to the "public engagement" back in October. We're told that was NOT Offset proposing to Cardi. It was Offset keeping his promise to Cardi and getting her a ring. As we first reported ... at that point they had been married for at least a month.
Cardi just opened up about the wedding on Twitter, saying, "There are so many moments that I share with the world and then there are moments that I want to keep for myself! Getting married was one of those moments! Our relationship was so new breaking up and making up and we had a lot of growing up to do but we was so in love we didn't want to lose each other."
She continues, "I said I do, with no dress no make up and no ring! I appreciate and love my husband so much for still wanting for me to have that special moment that every girl dreams of when he got down on his knee and put a ring on my finger and he did that for me!!
Here's her full statement:
This why i name my album “Invasion of privacy” cause people will do the most to be nosey about your life .Welp fuck it . pic.twitter.com/U3uHFOT3qK
Netflix just put together something for the culture and it's EPIC! Find out the real story behind the movie streaming service's BOMB new trailer that features 40+ black stars inside...
This is NOT a moment, this is a movement! And we're here for every last minute of it.
After debuting its first ever spot during the BET Awards last year, Netflix decided to come back bigger, better and blacker than ever this year.
Inspired by the legendary 1958 A Great Day In Harlem, Netflix rounded up a group of their strong black leads, creatives and icons in Hollywood to gives us all a once-in-a-lifetime moment. 47 actors, actresses, producers, showrunners, etc. from 20+ Netflix original shows, films and documentaries came together to create, A Great Day in Hollywood. And yes, it's EVERYTHING!
The gorgeous photos were taken by photographer Kwaku Alston and director Lacey Duke directed the accompanying video.
“It was a pretty magical couple of hours. All these amazingly talented, beautiful individuals in one space being supportive and just looking stunning together, all here to pull off this one take wonder! Alfre Woodard even lead everyone in an epic rendition of ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing’ before we started shooting. It was beautiful, and in a flash it was over. It was probably the most overwhelming two hours of my career haha. I was just so happy to be a part of history," said director Lacey Duke.
The campaign is the result of months of work by our Strong Black Lead team; comprised of Black Netflix executives who focus on engaging this audience.
No, this is NOT a response to the firing of PR Chief Jonathan Friedland, who served as the streaming giant's chief communications officer for the past six years, as this was MONTHS in the making. Last week, Jonathan Friedland stepped down after it was discovered he used the N-word during multiple meetings with other Netflix staffers.
In the spot, "Stranger Things" star Caleb McLaughlin explains our blackness in media like it should be told:
This is a New Day.
Built from the ground broken by legends.
A Day for our generation to see untold experiences of our BLACKNESS.
Representing a LIMITLESS range of Identity.
Playing Kings and Queens of our neighborhoods.
defeating larger than life forces trying to flip our world upside down. (beat)
WE STAND-UP on any stage and every screen.
A DAY when black women are BOLDLY the lead character, whether inmates or scholars
We’re not a genre because there’s no one way to be black.
We’re writing while black.
Nuanced and complex.
Resilient and Strong.
This is NOT a Moment.
This is a Movement.
We are STRONG Black Leads
TODAY is a Great day in Hollywood.

The 2018 BET Awards have come and gone. BUT! The entire weekend was filled with events leading up to the ceremony and we've rounded up everything you need to see inside...
What a weekend! The 2018 BET Awards had the Internet on fire last night as we watched folks hit the stage and cop awards inside the Microsoft Theater in L.A.
But before the big show went down, there were several events that were thrown leading up to the BET Awards. For the annual BET Experience, tons of celebs came out to perform, conduct interviews and do meet-and-greet with fans. It was definitely LIT!
Singers Miguel and Luke James exchanged some brotherly love when they linked up at the 2018 BET Awards Radio Remotes. It's an annual event where celebs stop by to chop it up with radio outlets reporting live from the BET Experience.
YBF actresses Elise Neal and Erica Ash got suited and booted to participate in the Celebrity Basketball Game that goes down annually. This year, team captains Shaq and radio personality Big Boy took their teams to the paint to see who would win the title this year.
See them trash talk before the game below:
Parkwood Entertainment singers Chloe x Halle greeted fans at the 2018 BET Experience Live! event.

The exes are on petty mode! Jill Scott's estranged husband Michael Dobson wants some of his things back from the singer and his list includes Prince's Purple Rain album. Get those deets, plus see Nelly go ham on his dad for linking up with his Ashanti inside...
Jill Scott's uncoupling from her estranged husband Michael Dobson just got messier.
Mr. Dobson just filed paperwork in his pending divorce from the soulful singer requesting she return some of his belongings. And his list of items are all time PETTY.
According to TMZ, Jill's estranged husband is asking a judge to make Jill give back a few items he left behind in September 2017.
Apparently, the "Golden" singer changed the locks on their home and Michael was unable to get his personal items, including Prince's album Purple Rain. That's not all he wants. He also wants Jill to return...y'all ready?...FIVE hotel robes (really, sir?), a massage table, a Dewalt laser level measurer AND...an extended shoehorn. Petty much?
Things are only getting nastier between the two after Jill filed for divorce from Michael 15 months after they tied the knot. She requested a restraining order against her estranged husband back in February. Since news broke that they were calling it quits, Michael has been making headlines, trashing Jill over her alleged "evil ways."
Sounds like they both are big mad. We know Jilly from Philly can't wait to get this all over with so she can go back to living her life like it's golden. Because this surely aint that.
Speaking of petty exes...
Nelly was BIG mad over the weekend after seeing his father and his ex-girlfriend Ashanti linked up in his hometown.
Over the weekend, the Grammy Award winning singer was scheduled to hit the stage at The Pageant in St. Louis for a performance.
Apparently, Nelly's dad, Cornell Haynes Sr., was in the mix. It's unclear if the "Foolish" singer invited him backstage or not. However, when they met up, Ashanti turned her camera on and made a quick video that she posted to her Instagram Stories feed.
After he caught wind of the video, the "Hot In Herre" (no typo) rapper went on a tirade against his father. We assume he feels betrayed that his dad would be cordial with his ex. Maybe to him it was a sign of disrespect. Either way, he wasn't happy about it and made sure everyone knew it. He bashed his dad, dubbing him a deadbeat, and told him someone else will have to foot all of his bills from now on because he's DONE done.
The "Country Grammar" rapper shared two tweets he posted on his Instagram page and he captioned it, "Just because it’s ya DNA DONT MAKE YOU A FATHER..!!! Mine never saw me play sports never taught me anything never saw me graduate and I still took care of him for almost 20 years he never to care of me for half that..!!!! And till this day he still does what ever he wants even tho I pay his bills .. “WELL USE TO” ..!!! That’s Over as of tonight ..!!!"
Peep the receipts (read from the bottom up) from the self-proclaimed "mamas boy" below:
And for some back up...
Nelly's homie Ali from his old rap group the St. Lunatics added his 2 cents in the mix.
Last night was all about the ballers, however, a few celebs who aren't ballers showed up and showed out. Peep red carpet flicks from the 2018 NBA Awards inside...
The 2nd Annual NBA Awards went down inside Barker Hangar in Santan Monica last night to recognize the top NBA players, teams, coaches and executives for their accomplishments and performances from the 2017-2018 NBA season.
It was a huge night for Houston Rockets baller James Harden , looking debonair in Neil Barrett suit, as he was awarded the Most Valuable Player Award for the work he put in this season. He was up for the award last year, but he ended up losing to OKC Thunder baller Russell Westbrook. Well, this is his year he's the King of the NBA after beating Cleveland Cavaliers player LeBron James and New Orleans Pelicans player Anthony Davis.
Since he didn't win last year, it seems the Rockets guard decided against preparing speech this year just in case he didn't win. Maybe he should have at least made some notes because he was stumbling through his speech as he thanked everyone who helped him get to this point.
"Wow. All glory to God man. All glory to God. Wow," he said. It was as if the win was a total shock and he didn't know what exactly to say.
Golden State Warriors player/champion Nick Young brought his kids' mother/former "BBW" star Keonna Green as his date for the evening. The two are back together, and have been for a while. Keonna has posted several flicks of Nick on her IG, singing his praises for being a good father and basketball player. She was also right by his side at the championship game recently.
On a side note, what is Nick wearing?
Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons, who's rumored to be dating Kendall Jenner, won the Rookie of the Year Award last night, beating out Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell and Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum.
Before the awards show, Ben and Donovan engaged in a little social media beef on whether Ben was eligible for the award since he was drafted as a rookie in 2016. However, when Ben was announced as a winner, it was all love between the two. Check it:
Phoenix Suns player Tyson Chandler linked up with NBA legend/birthday boy Dikembe Mutombo on the carpet before the retired baller received the Craig Sager Award to celebrate his 18 seasons of greatness in the league. He retired in 2009.
Not only that, he was also recognized for all of the philanthropy work he has done for his hometown, like building a hospital in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The four-time top defensive player honored the late sports reporter by rocking changing into a blazer that's similar to the funky blazers Craig used to wear.
Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo flossed in florals before copping this year's Most Improved Player Award. Not only can he ball out on the court, he can also hold a tune. Like, really good. Peep his acceptance speech and listen to him serenade the audience effortlessly below:
"Insecure" star Yvonne Orji looked amazing in green on the carpet before presenting Dikembe with his award.
Slayyyyyyage on a thousand!
Singer Normani was SMOKING hot on the red carpet in this black cut-out gown.
After hitting the stage with a "woke" performance at the BET Awards, Meek Mill hit the carpet in the same Freedom shirt he rocked at the BET Awards.
After the awards show, the Philly rapper linked up with MVP winner James Harden to party it up at Avenue nightclub. Check it:
Back on the carpet...
One of Hip Hop's favorite couples Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka'oir made an appearance.
And both of their outfits were...interesting.

Angela Simmons is living life as a single mother after calling it quits with her ex-fiance Sutton Tennyson. In a new interview, she explains why they relly broke up, her current "situationship" with Romeo Miller, dealing with trolls who criticize her for having a baby out of wedlock and more. Get it all inside...
Angela Simmons has been serving up hot bikini shots on social media while on vacay in Haiti. The "Growing Up Hip Hop" star isn't just there for rest and relaxation. She takes a trip there every year to spend time with the children of Mission of Grace.
Before (or after) she jetted to the island, Angela, her sister Vanessa Simmons and her brother JoJo Simmons stopped by Power 105's "The Breakfast Club" to chat about "Growing Up Hip Hop." Ange dished on what's currently going on in her life as a single mother.
The fitness fanatic says she has been dealing with folks scrutinizing her for having a baby out of wedlock after she was so dead set on waiting to have sex until she was married. We all saw that conversation (well, a few of them) she had about why she was waiting. But it didn't seem like she practiced what she preached. Things change and life happens, so Ange says save your judgment.
"Obviously my goal was to wait," she explained. "Remember we had that conversation [on 'Run's House]. They always haunt me about that...that we had that 'conversation.' But, for me, it is what it is. I'm not perfect. I never said I was perfect. I was just discussing where I was at in my life at that point. And things change all the time. It changed and that's just what it was."
We all know things didn't go as planned. In December 2017, Angela confirmed she called it quits with her ex-fiance Sutton Tennyson and she explained why.
"Things don't always work," she said. "You can plan, plan, plan, but God sometimes have another plan or your actions are going to have your plan change drastically. ... Personally, things change. People come in and out your life. People change and you just have to be wiling to accept that. And I've just gotten to the point where 'you are who you are' and Im just going to accept you for who you are. You can't change people."
She said she was disappointed in herself at first, but after spending time with a life coach and refocusing her energy on her son Sutton Jr., she no longer feels ashamed about her failed relationship.
So why did Angela and Sutton, who is rumored to have a not so clean reputation in the streets, break up?
"It's many, many, many reasons," she responded. "I don't really want to get into that. It just was enough to not be in the relationship anymore. It just didn't make sense for me and I want my son to grow up in a happy, positive environment. You don't want them [kids] around anything that's going to make them grow up the way they shouldn't. So, I'm just really sensitive to my child and the energy that's around."
"I don't know. I don't know why [people want us to be together]. I've known him for quite some time. He's cool. I have nothing bad to say about Romeo. He's a super cool person, smart, love his family, but like...it's just not there! I'm not fronting on him."
"There's probably natural chemistry, I won't deny that. But, marriage is a big thing to do," Angela said.
Angela's brother JoJo said there's a whole lot of chemistry between her and Romeo, but he doesn't "want her with nobody." The radio hosts asked JoJo if he had to choose between Romeo or rapper Yo Gotti for his sister to date he would pick Romeo because he's "safer." However, he said he's cool with Gotti. He even said Angela's ex-Bow Wow is cool too. Bruh...
Since Gotti decided to shoot his shot at Angela on his track "Down In The DM," nothing has ever came of it. She said she has seen him around, but they've never gone out on a date.
The Simmons Clan also touched on their uncle Russell Simmons and the sexual assault allegations that have been brought up against him.
"I think it's just stepping back," Angela responded. "The situation is going to be what it's going to be. We know our uncle, we love our uncle, we support our uncle and we're not getting in between it. I love my uncle that's it."
JoJo said it's just a lot going on and it's hard to tell who's telling the truth.
Oh, and get this.
JoJo reacted to Angela's "thirst trap" flicks she likes to post on social media. Apparently, he mistaken Angela for Nicki Minaj once and left him in an awkward position. Yikes. Check it:
Janet Jackson just copped an award that is now named after her. See the icon accept the award, plus find out what she said about dealing with depression and more inside...
There's no denying Janet Jackson's musical dominance over the years. She has literally been entertaining us our whole lives and now she's getting her flowers while she's still here.
Janet Jackson was honored with the 2018 Impact Award during the Radio Disney Music Awards that went down over the weekend. Actress Raven-Symone and singer Normani were totally stanning out over Miss Jackson onstage as they presented her with the award. And Janet was more than gracious.
The Impact Awards is a brand new award and Janet is the first to receive it. From now on, it'll be dubbed the Janet Jackson Impact Award. Sweet!
“It’s beautiful and its humbling to be recognized as someone who’s had a positive impact, but if I’ve been fortunate enough to impact others, it’s only because I myself have been greatly impacted by positive people in my life,” Janet started off saying as she accepted the award.
The 52-year-old singer thanked the positive people who have impacted her life, including her mother Katherine Jackson and her "incredible" father Joe Jackson, who's currently in the hospital battling terminal cancer.
“My mother nourished me with the most extravagant love imaginable,” she said. “My incredible father drove me to be the best I can. My siblings set an incredibly high standard, a high bar for artistic excellence.”
She encouraged the young people in the crowd to continue speaking out in an effort to make social change.
“This means so much to me coming from all of you. It really does. Your gratuitous acknowledgement will surely inspire me to continue to grow as an artist and as a human being," she concluded.

Before she hits the stage at the ESSENCE Music Festival next month...
The musical icon graces the cover of ESSENCE magazine's July/August 2018 issue. And, as expected, she's breathtakingly gorgeous. This is 50+ & Fab on steroids.
Inside, the Grammy Award winner shared a side of herself that she doesn't normally show. In an open letter written to her fans (the cover story), she opened up about dealing with depression and how failed relationships contributed to her feeling like a failure.
“In my forties: Like millions of women in the world, I still heard voices inside my head berating me, voices questioning my value,” she expalined. “Happiness was elusive. A reunion with old friends might make me happy. A call from a colleague might make me happy. But because sometimes I saw my failed relationships as my fault, I easily fell into despair.”
While she may have all the fame and riches, inside, she's just like the rest of us.
The global superstar is currently divorcing from her estranged husband Wissam Al Mana, however, she finds complete happiness when she's in the presence of her 1-year-old son Eissa.
“The height of happiness is holding my baby son in my arms and hearing him coo, or when I look into his smiling eyes and watch him respond to my tenderness,” she said. “When I kiss him. When I sing him softly to sleep. During those sacred times, happiness is everywhere. Happiness is in gratitude to God. Happiness is saying, ‘Thank you, God, for my life, my energy and my capacity to grow in love.’ ”
