In case you've been under a rock, Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner have been hiding their pregnancy news for several months. Now, the couple has revealed that their baby girl was been born in secret, and, of course, they documented everything for the public.

Kylie Jenner released an 11 minute mini-doc on her Youtube channel showing off the last several months of her and rapper baby's father Travis Scott's life.  Of course, it's focused on their pregnancy and baby's birth, which Kylie claims she kept everyone in the dark about because she wanted to experience it in private.  The world was well aware she was pregnant, though, despite her going into hiding and covering her stomach at all times she was spotted.

Now that the baby has been popped out, naturally, she wants to share with the public.  Because, Jenner-Kardashians.

The video, which has 30M views since it was posted yesterday, shows Kylie and Travis' OB appointments, her pregnant belly, and a cameo debut from Chicago West.  Y'all know Kim wasn't letting Kylie get all the shine.

Kylie and Travis haven't revealed their daughter's name, but they did confirm she was born on February 1st. Yes, we're biting our tongue about the Black History Month irony.

A post shared by Kylie (@kyliejenner) on

Sources say Kylie (and we assume Travis too) have been having a "life changing" and "happiest ever" first days of parenthood.  Limitless resources, help and money tend to make having a newborn more bearable than not.

    Travis celebrated on Twitter saying:

    Congrats to the couple!

From failed relationships…to new love. SWV singer Cheryl “Coko” Clemons and her husband are calling it quits after 15 years of marriage. Meanwhile, Pilar Sanders has found love and J. Prince is her new beau. Everything inside…

     photo cockodivorce.jpg

It’s a new year and singer Cheryl “Coko” Clemons is gearing up to embark on a new stage in her life.

The SWV singer announced she and her husband Mike Clemons decided to divorce after 15 years of marriage. She let everyone in on her and Mike’s decision via a post on her personal website.

“We always thought we'd be together forever!,” she started off the letter. “Through the good, the bad, the ugly, the ups and the downs...we'd still be married. But, things don't always work out the way we plan or hope.”

Despite calling it quits after being together so long, she said she wishes nothing but the best for her soon-to-be ex. She said they simply fell out of love with one another.

“After 15 years of marriage, my husband and I have decided to call it quits. Our fairytale has come to an end. I'll definitely miss him! But life goes on and I have to make the best of it. I wish him all the best in his future. I pray that he will lack nothing! For the sake of our son we will do our best to co-parent. We're not enemies, we're just two people that fell out of love”

However, she’s hopeful for the future and knows with her support system behind her, she’ll be fine.

“Life after divorce kind of scares me, but I have to be strong for myself and my son. God got me and I'm surrounded by a great group of family and friends that hold me down. My Village!! I am blessed and highly favored!!

    “READY FOR MY NEXT!!!”

We wish them both nothing but the best.

It’s been a long time coming, but Pilar Sanders has finally moved on to someone new.

Not to say she hasn’t had a man since she spilt with NFL legend Deion Sanders. But, all of the drama she was involved in with Deion had us giving her the side eye.

These days, she’s cuddling up with Houston CEO of Rap-a-Lot Records, J. Prince. And she wants everyone to know it. While giving back to the community on “J. Prince Day" in Houston, Pilar shared a flick of herself and her beau all hugged up with the caption, “When you share #love for #helpingothers and #givingback the #joy is indescribable no faking - no fronting all #real “

She even threw a lil' shade at her ex in her comments:

    YAS!

Let’s talk baby! Angela Rye explains why she decided to freeze her eggs, while Tia Mowry opens up about her infertility issues. Get it all inside…

     photo angela3.jpg

For some of us, we chose to put career before starting a family. And once you reach a certain age, it’s time to start thinking of ways how you can still have both because it’s definitely possible (despite what society likes to tell us), especially if you prepare for it.

That’s what CNN political analyst Angela Rye is doing…or has done. The 38-year-old, who’s currently dating rapper/actor Common, decided she would lengthen the time she has to become a mother by freezing her eggs.

“So, 38, it was just time,” she told the ladies on “The Real.” “It was a process I looked into when I was 35 and I got scared because my egg reserve number was low.”

She continued, “And so they were telling me that I’d have to go through multiple cycles which was expensive and I just got scared. And so now I’m like, ‘Uhhh… what do I have to lose?’ You know.”

Angela said she recorded a lot of the footage and she hopes that it will inspire other women who may be going through the same thing.

“But it was a really emotional experience, I didn’t cry a lot, but I felt so connected with my body, trying to create an environment where there weren’t going to be stressed out eggs. Somebody that’s like a big sister to me was like, ‘Don’t have stressed out eggs!’”

    Well good for her.

    Speaking of motherhood....

Tia Mowry Hardrict is over the moon she’s carrying her and her husband Cory Hardrict’s 2nd child. But, it was a long journey filled with ups and downs.

The couple kept trying, but couldn’t get pregnant again. The hot mom, who struggles with endometriosis, ended up feeling discouraged that she would never get pregnant again.

“I didn’t think I’d be able to have a second child, and it’s been over seven years since my first pregnancy,” the actress told PEOPLE. “I put it off, but I did want to have another child.”

But now the 39-year-old actress is bumping around with a baby girl and her son Cree, 6, will soon be a big brother!

“I didn’t let my infertility issues define me or define what my goals were and what I wanted out of life,” she said. “We did try for a long time. It was hard. But I didn’t give up.”

    So happy for them!

Mathew Knowles is opening up about how internalized colorism led him to his now ex-wife Tina Knowles Lawson and how Beyonce’s light skin is a factor in her mainstream success. Do you agree? Read his interview and discuss inside…

Mathew Knowles has a new book on the market he’s promoting titled Racism: From the Eyes of a Child, where he opens up about what life was like growing up in the deep South during the ‘60s & ‘70s. And he’s sharing his life experiences raw and unfiltered.

In an interview with EBONY, Beyonce’s father opened up about how internalized colorism led him to his now ex-wife Tina Knowles Lawson. As a child, his mother would tell him not to “bring no nappy-head Black girl” to her house, so he always gravitated towards light skinned black women or white women.

“In the deep South in the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s, the shade of your Blackness was considered important. So I, unfortunately, grew up hearing that message,” he told the magazine.

The Texas Southern professor revealed when he first met his ex-wife Tina Knowles Lawson, he thought she was a white woman. He later found out she wasn’t and that she was super in-tune with her blackness.

Mathew said he has a whole chapter in his book about eroticized rage where he subconsciously sought after light skinned black women or white women as a way of “getting back” at white men.

“I had been conditioned from childhood. With eroticized rage, there was actual rage in me as a Black man, and I saw the White female as a way, subconsciously, of getting even or getting back. There are a lot of Black men of my era that are not aware of this thing.”

Where is the lie?  We've been saying this for years, actually.  A lot of black men (and possibly some black women) suffer from eroticized rage and don’t even know it. We hardly ever agree with Mathew, but he hit this nail right on the head. We’re actually shocked he's openly talking about it. But, it’s definitely a conversation within the black community that needs to be had.

In the interview, Mathew also opened up about his daughter Beyonce (and others) being light skinned and how that may have aided to her mainstream success.

“When it comes to Black females, who are the people who get their music played on pop radio? Mariah Carey, Rihanna, the female rapper Nicki Minaj, my kids [Beyonce and Solange], and what do they all have in common?”

“They’re all lighter skinned,” the reporter responded.

“Do you think that’s an accident?,” Mathew asked.

“Of course not!,” the reporter said.

“So you get it!,” Mathew said

Hmm…does he have a point? Sound off in the comments!

Well, that was quick. Remy Ma fired Vincent Herbert just as quickly as she hired him.  Deets inside...

Remy Ma is manager-less again as she's reportedly dropped Vincent Herbert.

Just three months ago, Remy confirmed she brought in Vince to help manage her glow up.  He does have a record for turning talented women into super stars.  But, apparently, Remy Ma said he didn't live up to the hype. And she blames his focus on Tamar, instead of her, as the reason why.

    According to TMZ:

Sources tell us Remy fired her recently-hired manager, Vincent Herbert, when she felt he was spending more time repairing his relationship with Tamar, than furthering Remy's career. We're told he came up short on promises of being a "super manager" for Remy.

Remy apparently says Vince dropped the ball on doing manager things, similar to what Tamar was complaining about on last season of "Vince & Tamar."

We're told Remy's complaints include Vincent dropping the ball on basic manager duties like booking studio time, and scheduling performances. On the other hand, Remy wanted no part of Vincent's family drama -- Tamar filing for divorce and a baby mama allegation -- and our sources say that stuff was his focus.

Interestingly, Vince called the "Wendy Show" and said it's all fake news.  He said he's still Remy's manager and that they actually have a meeting today.

Is it possible that he just hasn't been told yet?  Plus, he has a tendency to act like things didn't happen, when others say they did.

    Time will tell...

Tamar Braxton’s personal life is currently a rollercoaster ride as she tries to figure out what to do with her estranged husband Vince Herbert. But, the show must go on. And she’s still out in these streets collecting her coins. Which is good, since she said she was retiring from making new music.

The 40-year-old singer is taking her talents from reality television to the big screen in an upcoming movie titled Gangland.

The Bluebird of Happiness singer will play a waitress named Celia. According to IMDB, Gangland is like a modern day Romeo and Juliette story. It follows the city of Chicago plagued by gang violence on both sides of the city. In the midst of their chaos, two young lovers must navigate their dangerous circumstances to escape their affiliations and discover true love.

"I’m so happy, honored and BLESSED to be shooting my very FIRST movie! Omg I’m having a BLAST," she captioned on Instagram.

Drake is out in Miami blessing people left and right. Find out all the details from his philanthropic work inside…

Drake is taking his single “God’s Plan” to a new level. And he’s putting smiles on people’s faces in the midst of it all.

The Young Money rapper jetted to Miami to shoot the video treatment for his single “God’s Plan” at Miami Senior High School. While there, he was inspired to go on a giving spree and, in true Drizzy fashion, he went ALL out.

First, he donated $25,000 to the high school while giving the students a few words of encouragement. Then, he announced he would make sure they all received brand new uniforms. Nice!

The “Hotline Bling” rapper made his way to the University of Miami to surprise one student with one hell of a gift.

Surprising her on what she thought was the set of a PSA video, Drizzy gifted Destiny James with a $50,000 check to go towards her tuition. In an Instagram post, Destiny wrote, “I was contacted this weekend about doing a video speaking about where I come from, things I've been through, and why it is so important for scholarship donors to continue to donate. This was the surprise the whole time. Drake told me that he has read great things about me and appreciates how hard I've worked through so many trials and decided to give me $50K for my tuition.”

According to customer Guille Deza, some of the footage from the supermarket could end up in his new video “God’s Plan.”

"No one knew he was coming at all, we just came to do groceries. Cameras were being set up so we were all wondering what was to happen,” he told E! News.

Quincy Jones clearly gives zero f****s because he’s spilling some epic tea. Go inside to find out why he bashed Michael Jackson and the young Beatles, what he said about Marvin Gaye and Richard Pryor smashing Marlon Brando, his REAL thoughts about Donald Trump, who he thinks is hot in Hip Hop and more. Get it all inside…

At 84 years old, Quincy Jones is at the point in his life where he’s just like f*** it. Forget being politically correct. Forget hurting someone’s feelings. Forget beating around the bush. He’s spilling this tea straight up, no chaser. NO FILTER. Zero f***s given.

After reflecting on his ho*ish ways and boasting about his 22 girlfriends in a GQ interview, the music mogul has several more stories to share with the masses. And these stories are just as juicy as the others he shared previously.

“All I’ve ever done is tell the truth,” Quincy said while chilling in his Bel Air home. “I’ve got nothing to be scared of, man.”

During a lengthy conversation with Vulture, Quincy shared a side of Pop king Michael Jackson we never heard before. According to the music legend, MJ would steal songs without giving credit. He even called him “greedy." So greedy, Quincy dubbed MJ as “Machiavellian.”

Vulture: You worked with Michael Jackson more than anyone he wasn’t related to. What’s something people don’t understand about him?

QJ: I hate to get into this publicly, but Michael stole a lot of stuff. He stole a lot of songs. [Donna Summer’s] “State of Independence Originally written by Vangelis and longtime Yes front man Jon Anderson, “State of Independence” was recorded by Donna Summer in 1982. Jones produced Summer’s version, Michael Jackson helped out on backing vocals, and the song’s central riff does sound awfully similar (albeit faster) to the iconic bass riff on Jackson’s hit single “Billie Jean.” It should also be noted that, last year, Jones won a lawsuit over a royalties dispute against Jackson’s estate. ” and “Billie Jean.” The notes don’t lie, man. He was as Machiavellian as they come.

    Vulture: How so?

QJ: Greedy, man. Greedy. “Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough” — Greg Phillinganes wrote the c section Phillinganes, an in-demand studio keyboardist, played on a handful of Jackson-Jones collaborations, including the 1979 album Off the Wall, from which “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” comes. Michael should’ve given him 10 percent of the song. Wouldn’t do it.

Vulture: What about outside of music? What’s misunderstood about Michael?

QJ: I used to kill him about the plastic surgery, man. He’d always justify it and say it was because of some disease he had. Bullshit.

    Damn.

     photo quincy2.jpg

The famed record producer had some more gossip to share. He alluded that his longtime friend/actor Marlon Brando have had sex with comedian Richard Pryor, singer Marvin Gaye and novelist James Baldwin. Whet?!

QJ: “He’d [Marlon] fuck anything. Anything! He’d fuck a mailbox. James Baldwin. Richard Pryor. Marvin Gaye.

Vulture: He slept with them? How do you know that?

QJ: [Frowns.] Come on, man. He did not give a fuck! You like Brazilian music?

    Yikes!

When Quincy first heard the rock band The Beatles, he thought they were the worst musicians he had ever heard.

QJ: That they were the worst musicians in the world. They were no-playing motherfuckers. Paul was the worst bass player I ever heard. And Ringo? Don’t even talk about it.

When it came to his longtime friend Bill Cosby and the sexual allegations, he didn't want to talk about it..publicly.

Vulture: But what about the alleged behavior of a friend of yours like Bill Cosby? Is it hard to square what he’s been accused of with the person you know?

QJ: It was all of them. Brett Ratner. [Harvey] Weinstein. Weinstein — he’s a jive motherfucker. Wouldn’t return my five calls. A bully.

    Vulture: What about Cosby, though?

    QJ: What about it?

Vulture: Were the allegations a surprise to you?

QJ: We can’t talk about this in public, man.

While he didn't want to talk about Bill, he had plenty to say about Donald Trump and how he used to date his wife Ivanka back in the day. Oh?

Vulture: What’s stirred everything up? Is it all about Trumpism?

QJ: It’s Trump and uneducated rednecks. Trump is just telling them what they want to hear. I used to hang out with him. He’s a crazy motherfucker. Limited mentally — a megalomaniac, narcissistic. I can’t stand him. I used to date Ivanka, you know.

    Vulture: Wait, really?

QJ: Yes, sir. Twelve years ago. Tommy Hilfiger, who was working with my daughter Kidada, said, “Ivanka wants to have dinner with you.” I said, “No problem. She’s a fine motherfucker.” She had the most beautiful legs I ever saw in my life. Wrong father, though.

    No filter.

Switching gears, Quincy shared who's feeling in Hip Hop right now and who he isn't.

Vulture: Well, who’s doing good work?

QJ: Bruno Mars. Chance the Rapper. Kendrick Lamar. I like where Kendrick’s mind is. He’s grounded. Chance, too. And the Ed Sheeran record is great. Sam Smith — he’s so open about being gay. I love it. Mark Ronson is someone who knows how to produce.

Vulture: I’m trying to isolate what you specifically believe the problem with modern pop is. It’s the lack of formal musical knowledge on the part of the musicians?

QJ: Yes! And they don’t even care they don’t have it.

Vulture: Putting aside the quality of contemporary songs, are there any technical or sonic production techniques that feel fresh?

QJ:No. There ain’t nothing new. The producers are lazy and greedy.

He also said he knows who really killed 35th U.S. President John F. Kennedy:

Vulture: What’s something you wish you didn’t know?

    QJ:Who killed Kennedy.

    Vulture: Who did it?

QJ:[Chicago mobster Sam] Giancana Chicago gangster Sam Giancana is a well-known name among Kennedy conspiracists, both for his alleged help in delivering Illinois votes for Kennedy in the 1960 presidential election and the 1963 assassination of the president. The latter theory largely stems from Giancana’s murder in 1975, not long before he was supposed to testify before a Senate committee investigating collusion between the mob and the CIA. The connection was there between Sinatra and the Mafia and Kennedy. Joe Kennedy — he was a bad man — he came to Frank to have him talk to Giancana about getting votes.

Vulture: I’ve heard this theory before, that the mob helped win Illinois for Kennedy in 1960.

QJ: We shouldn’t talk about this publicly. Where you from?

Kicking off NYFW, amfAR hosted its annual gala at Cipriani Wall Street in NYC last night (February 7th). The annual soiree honors and recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Taraji P. Henson, who was tapped to host, was a total showstopper when she hit the red carpet. The Proud Mary star flossed her curves in a sequin David Koma gown that featured a plunging neckline. The mermaid style gown was the perfect balance of sexy and classy.

By the way, Proud Mary is still in theaters, so go see it if you haven't yet.

While on the carpet, the YBF actress gushed to ET about Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner’s baby, Stormi.

"The picture was absolutely gorgeous!" she shared. "The baby's name is absolutely amazing and I'm so happy for all of them. It's just an amazing time for the family, I'm happy for all of them."

Cardi B says she’s not pregnant, but her belly has some people thinking otherwise. See her latest flicks, plus find out why club owners are beefing up security before Cardi's hosting gigs inside….

Cardi B already told y’all she’s not pregnant. A few days ago, a fan mentioned she may be pregnant with her fiancé Offset’s baby, but she popped back sayingt:

     photo cardibelly2.jpg

It’s possible. We all know how it is when you start gaining weight in a relationship, even though she doesn't look drastically different to us.  And new money also means crazy hectic schedules, good food, and less time to be balanced.

Today, a few new flicks of the “Bartier Cardi” rapper have surfaced and folks are CONVINCED she’s carrying a baby.

She hit the stage in a catsuit in Trinidad last night and you can see...something.  It could be a food baby for all we know.  Then, there’s another flick of her backstage that has everyone speculating she may, in fact, be prego. Check it:

Hmm...what do you think? Baby bump or nah?

    In other news...

     photo Screen Shot 2018-02-08 at 1.22.43 PM.png

It's being reported L.A. nightclub owners are beefing up security for the Cardi B events. Why? Well, apparently some ish popped off on social media where Crips have been sending her death threats.

The "Bodak Yellow" rapper is scheduled to host at three different clubs -- Murano, Penthouse and Ace of Diamonds -- during NBA All-Star Weekend next weekend. So, the clubs (all under the same ownership) aren't taking the threats lightly and have tripled security measures to keep the violence nonexistent. Off-duty cops have also been hired to work the clubs.

It all started when she posted a picture of her in a blue fur coat (atop) and captioned, "I hate wearing Flue."

We all know - thanks to just common culture or Issa Rae's neighbor on "Insecure" - Crips and Bloods can't stand wearing the other gang's colors or saying words that start with the letter of the other's gang.

As of now, Cardi doesn't seem bothered by it all. She's just trying to get her reported $250K bag for her hosting duties.

Our YBF ladies are already proving 2018 will be another successful year in entertainment. Find out what Ava DuVernay, Teyonah Parris and Yvonne Orji have coming down the pipeline, plus find out which YBF ladies are going behind-the-scenes inside…

Get ready for all of this #BlackGirlMagic!

     photo avanew.jpg

Ava DuVernay is looking to continue her television work, following OWN’s successful “Queen Sugar” series.

CBS just picked up a drama series backed by the fab directress and film writer Greg Berlanti. It’s reported Caitlin Parrish and Erica Weiss will join forces to write (and produce) the series that will “explore what happens after a white cop in Chicago mistakenly shoots and kills a black doctor." Plot twist. It will shed light on the three different families that all have connections to the case and let viewers see the story from each perspective.

No word on the title just yet. Warner Bros. Television is the production studio behind the project.

By the way, CBS also picked up that series based on former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder's life.

Another YBF chick with a new project....

     photo teyonahnew.jpg

“Survivor’s Remorse” alum Teyonah Parrish just nabbed her very own lead role in an upcoming series.

The YBF actress is the female lead in a CBS drama pilot titled “Murder.” And based on the title, we can expect Teyonah to be in a whole world of trouble...or heartache.

    According to Deadline:

Written by Amanda Green, this new take on the investigative drama explores crime through the unique and often-conflicting perspectives of cops and killers, witnesses and victims, friends and family. Shot like a true-crime documentary, the series invites the audience inside the emotional journey of an investigation, allowing them to discern the truth and judge the suspects’ guilt or innocence for themselves.

Lin Pictures’ Dan Lin executive produces Murder with Green; Lindsey Liberatore co-exec produces. Lin Pictures produces in association with Warner Bros. TV and CBS Television Studios.

Also coming down the pipeline, the Chi-raq actress has signed on to star in Barry Jenkins If Beale Street Could Talk, adapted from the James Baldwin novel.

    Get those coins Teyonah.

    Also...

     photo yvonnenew.jpg

Yvonne Orji is about to switch it up and show us what she’s really made of.

The “Insecure” star will be starring in an upcoming sci-fi film titled Spontaneous, a new flick from Awesomeness Films.

Yvonne will join previously announced cast members Hayley Law, Charlie Plummer and Katherine Langford. Piper Perabo and Rob Huebel have also been announced to round out the cast.

Shadow & Act has the synopsis:

Mara Carlye (Langford), whose life is forever changed when students in her senior class literally explode for no discernible reason. As students continue to pop like blood-filled balloons and the town descends into both chaos and apathy, Mara and her friends stay close together as they await possible combustion – wondering what part of life is worth living if it might end suddenly.

Yvonne will be using her detective skills as she will play Special Agent Rosetti, "who is investigating the combustions taking place." It’ll be interesting to see her in another role other than Issa's best friend “Molly.”

If you haven’t heard, she’ll be starring in Night School with Kevin Hart& Tiffany Haddish as well.

    About those director chairs...

     photo kerrychair.png

Not only is Kerry leading "Scandal," she's also working behind the scenes. If you didn't know, the 41-year-old actress was in the director's chair for the last episode of "Scandal," directing her co-stars to fulfill her vision.

Her co-star Scott Foley, who has directed "Scandal" before, did a video where he shared what tidbits Kerry gave him during his scenes for the episode. Check it:

Basically, she wanted everyone to pick up the pace. Ha!

Kerry isn't the only YBF star to direct an episode that she stars in...

    // i’m so excited....i’m directing an episode of @blackishabc! #blackish

A post shared by Tracee Ellis Ross (@traceeellisross) on

"black-ish" actress Tracee Ellis Ross is set to direct an episode of the ABC comedy that will air later in the season. The 45-year-old has a little directing experience under her belt, but she has not directed an episode of "black-ish"...until now.

“I’m so excited to share that I’m directing episode 21 of black-ish this season!,”Trace told PEOPLE. “It’s not my first time directing, but it’s my first time directing here. I’ve gotta be honest: I’m a little bit nervous because I heard Tracee Ellis Ross only likes to receive direction in a whisper tone, while Anthony Anderson only likes direction given through song. … All jokes aside, I’m really looking forward to working with my TV family in a new capacity.”

    Nice!

In other news, Dulé Hill will be upped to series regular on "Suits" season 8 after Megan Markle's departure. Congrats!

There’s some fresh melanin on the magazine circuit. Check out model newbie Laura Harrier’s super hot INSTYLE cover and spread, plus the gorgeous women of color who front NYLON’s February 2018 issue.

Also, Chris Rock is ready to bring the laughs in a new wedding film and we’ve got a sneak peek. Get it all inside…

     photo laurainstyle.png

We love a fresh face around these parts.

You may not have heard of Laura Harrier, but you’ll be seeing a lot more of her in 2018.

The 27-year-old made her mark in Spider-Man: Homecoming, breaking barriers as we hardly ever see a woman of color, let alone two (the other being Zendaya), in an action movie together. She was the love interest of Peter Parker, now, she's serving up HOT shots for INSTYLE magazine's March 2018 issue.

     photo laurainstyle3.jpg

“It’s so rare that you see two women of color in an action movie,” Laura told the magazine. “It was so forward-thinking to have us each play completely independent characters.”

     photo laurainstyle4.jpg

The Chi-town native, who is biracial, revealed she idenitifies as black, but she’s connected to both of her ethnic backgrounds. Her father is African-American and her mother is Polish and English.

“I feel really connected to both sides of my family,” she said. “When I was growing up, there were never people on TV who looked like me, so it’s very cool to be able to represent that on camera.”

     photo laurainstyle5.jpg

However, she did look up to one of our fave 90s stars.

“Hilary Banks from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is my number-one influence,” she shared. “She’s a bad bitch, always unapologetically herself and unafraid to stand out and be beautiful.”

    Facts.

     photo laurainstyle2.jpg

Joining the ranks, Laura said she will be using her platform to highlight important issues that are going on around us because it's her duty to do so.

“I think those of us with a platform have a duty to talk about all the fucked-up stuff that’s going on,” she explained. “I would feel really uncomfortable watching things go by and just posting pretty selfies.”

“I feel very fortunate to be acting at a time when women and minorities are getting more of a voice,” she continued. “We’re in the middle of a moment where barriers are starting to be broken down. But I just want them to be smashed all the way.”

We'll be keeping a look out on her. You can read her full interview here.

Don't think you won't be seeing her on the big screen. She's currently filming Spike Lee's biographical drama, Black Klansman, also starring Corey Hawkins.

    On another magazine front...

     photo nylon1.jpg

NYLON magazine is celebrating Black History Month with a fierce, melanin drenched cover that we’re loving. For the magazine’s February 2018 issue, YBF models serve up uber fabness an array of skin tones, shades and hair textures that make us all so magical.

     photo nylon2.jpg

For the cover story, writer Roxane Gay explores everything that is STILL wrong with the fashion industry. However, she’s hopeful for change. And is speaking out and specifically saying what needs to be done for the industry to change.

“Every body is unique and carries with it a history that deserves to be honored by fashion,” she wrote.“This should go without saying, but, clearly, it needs to be said over and over again. And we need far more than to say that every body matters.”

     photo nylon3.jpg

“Everyone in the fashion industry needs to acknowledge the reality and diversity of human bodies," she continued. "This industry needs to act on that acknowledgment at every level. Designers must design clothes for all kinds of bodies and do so with the same flair and creativity with which they design clothes for their ideal. Retailers need to carry clothing for all kinds of bodies. Fashion magazines need to feature all kinds of bodies. And this has to be an ongoing effort.”

We totally agree. And what's taking this change so long to happen?! There's clearly a market for designers to expand their collections to fit more than a model size 0 body. You can read her full piece here.

Check out a few behind-the-scenes clips from the shoot below:

    In movie news...

    He’s baaaaack!

Chris Rock is gearing up to play a dad who’s son is marrying a white woman in the new Netflix comedy, The Week Of. He’s starring opposite Adam Sandler. Lordt. These two will definitely have you laughing.

Anyone else feeling old? Chris Rock is playing a father of a son that’s old enough to get married. Let that sink in.

    According to Rolling Stone:

“...The Robert Smigel-directed comedy chronicles the chaos of two families coming together the week before a wedding. The new trailer highlights plenty of that madness – from magic tricks gone awry to Steve Buscemi inexplicably smoking a cigarette while lying on a chimney. The action is centered around Sandler and Rock having a very fatherly fight over whether to turn on the car air conditioner.”

Y’all know how people are about their air condition in the car. Ha! Peep the teaser above.

The Week Of will be available to steam April 27th on Netflix

She captioned on Instagram, "for someone who’s always been a lil socially awkward and kinda stayed in the house for most things, I felt like I was missing out on this whole world I was actually obsessed with. Let’s talk music! We’re a month into 2018 and you likely can already see what type of year this is going to be. What song will you make your soundtrack of the year? Watch our exclusive interview with ASCAP songwriterTell us inside…

We just made it through the first month of 2018 and some are already feeling like they’ve gone through another year of foolishness. Meanwhile, some of us are kicking off the year in great spirits and have many things to look forward to.

YBF correspondent Unique Chapman was on the scene at the ASCAP Grammy Reception recently where we asked celebs and songwriters (the person behind SZA's "Supermodel is a guy!) what song would they say summed up their 2017. Singer Ledisi told us it's her own song, "High."

"That is the whole feeling I want to keep since 2016. I been wanting to keep staying up and 'High' is that whole song for me. It's my life. Any negativity, I don't want it. You can have it, that's yours. I'm holding on to my energy," she told us. Peep the clip above.

Let’s get this motivation train on and poppin'.  Encourage each other to either get through a tough time, or celebrate the new and exciting moments that are coming down the pipeline.

Whether you're dealing with a breakup, a new job/career change, weight loss goals, a new baby, an engagement, a new house….whatever! How do you see your 2018 playing out musically? We want to know!

What YOU will have on your playlist on repeat as your soundtrack of 2018?
