LiAngelo Ball reveals UCLA made him thank Donald Trump after he was brought back to the USA from China when he was caught stealing. Meanwhile, his big brother Lonzo Ball fired a shot at Nas and the rapper seemingly responded. Everything inside…

LiAngelo Ball is dishing a few deets about why he thanked Donald Trump during his press conference following the stealing scandal that went down in China.

The former UCLA basketball player, his father LaVar Ball and his younger brother LeMelo Ball stopped by Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club” to chat it up about what’s next for the Big Baller Brand.

Before we get into where the younger Ball brothers will be playing, the young athletes and their dad addressed that stealing situation. LiAngelo revealed UCLA put the pressure on him to thank No. 45 after he and two of his teammates were arrested for allegedly shoplifting from a Louis Vuitton store.

"He [Trump] tweeted about it before my speech so I had to add it in there right before I gave it," LiAngelo revealed. “My school wanted to hear it too. Before I went up there, it's like, 'You gotta thank him.' I just threw him in there real quick before I gave my speech."

LiAngelo said if the school hadn’t asked him to add it in his speech, he wouldn’t have.

"If they didn't tell me to do it, it wouldn't have been in there, to be honest," he said.

Following his return to the USA, UCLA suspended him and his other two teammates indefinitely. So, what does the Big Baller Brand honcho do? He gets them contracts to play overseas.

Must be nice. Interestingly, neither of them could REALLY articulae why they went this route when Charlamagne asked them about it.  Like with every other question, they basically passed the mic to their dad.

Lakers player Lonzo Ball decided to fire another shot at rap icon Nas ahead of the Lakers going up against the NY Knicks yesterday (December 12th). The NBA rookie walked into Madison Square Garden rocking a sweatshirt with his face over Nas’s classic album It Was Written.

Lonzo pulled this stunt after he previously the Queens Bridge rapper when he made the comment,"Don't nobody listen to Nas no more," on the Ball family's Facebook show "Ball in the Family." We'd like to note, Lonzo said REAL rap in his eyes equals Migos and Future.

Oh.

However, the Knicks ended up beating the Lakers, 113-109. So, Nas ended up having the last laugh. After the game, the NYC rapper posted:

The White House and black folks everywhere finally agree on one thing - Omarosa Manigualt Newman's gotta go.  After news of her firing and dragging out of the White House took over, she's telling another story...

Y'all know it takes an act of Congress for us to even mention this chick around these parts.  But this is close enough.

Black folks everywhere said a collective "Girl, BYE!" when news that Trump's chocolate cheerleader was the White House surfaced.  And folks weren't just sipping the tea on the fact it was announced she was leaving on January 20th, but there's another pot of piping hot tea about HOW she's leaving.

White House Correspondent April Ryan, who has a brief & shady history with First Lady Newman, chimed in minutes after news that chick was resigning hit the net.

April basically said 'Not so fast,' because there's WAY more to the story.

Your girl, the "Special Assistant to the President" and Director of African American Outreach, was fired, allegedly.  She was also literally DRAGGED out of the White House kicking and screaming after she threw a Black Ink Crew-style fit after said firing, allegedly.

The Secret Service contends they did not escort Omarosa out of the White House from their tweet. So who did? But the Secret Service says they did deactivate her badge last night stopping her access into the White House.

WH correspondents from CBS, People Magazine and Daily Mail all confirm almost exact versions of this story from their own sources.  And since the former Trump employee has shown her ass on MANY occasions this past year alone (remember that NABJ foolery where she popped off on blacks and her horrific reaction to the crowd at the NAN Women's Brunch?).  So none of this is difficult to believe.

Tragic. As if any of us knew what she was actually doing at her "job" anyway.

That brings us to this morning when the now three-times-fired-by-Trump employee took her non-talents to "Good Morning America."  She wasted no time for a chick who supposedly still has a job till January.

The former "Apprentice" villain, who arrived and left with her "pastor" husband, said the firing rumors are all false, and are a result of April Ryan's "personal vendetta" against her.

She then proceeded to do the predictable: Play victim about the things she saw and the way she was treated as the only black woman in the White House.  She just couldn't take it anymore, so she "resigned" effective mid-January.

That's interesting, since the Secret Service confirmed they've already been advised to snatch her White House pass:

The Secret Service was not involved in the termination process of Ms Manigault Newman or the escort off of the complex. Our only involvement in this matter was to deactivate the individual's pass which grants access to the complex.

After multiple women came forward yesterday accusing Russell Simmons of rape, he's now defending himself with polygraph tests and a #NOTME movement he thinks is a good idea. Plus, a criminal investigation has now been launched.  More inside...

Four more women have come forward accusing Russell Simmons of sexual assault, which puts the total now at almost half a dozen.  The mess has now triggered a criminal investigation by NYPD. They are reportedly assessing which cases are still within the statute of limitations and will progress accordingly.

Yesterday, the NY Times unveiled a bombshell of a story where the newest four women fetail their interaction with Russell.  Three of them claim they were raped him.

One in particular, Drew Dixon, is quite interesting as she was a long time executive at Russell's Def Jam label.  She says that while overseeing projects by Method Man and Mary J. Blige back in 2005 when she was 25, he constantly harassed her and even raped her one night in his apartment.

The other women have equally compelling stories that go into pretty deep detail about their mistreatment.  You can read the exposé HERE in full.

Like Russell did with the previous claims, he vehemently denies them.  He also says every sexual act he's ever had was consensual.

Interesting.

Russell, who recently stepped down from his entire Def Jam empire because of these allegations, even took a polygraph test about the first accuser, model Keri Claussen Khalighi.

TMZ reports:

TMZ obtained this image of Simmons taking the polygraph Wednesday in the L.A. area. Russell's camp says it was administered by a national leader in the field of polygraphing. We're told he was asked a series of questions about the allegations made by Khalighi.

You'll recall, she claims Simmons forced her into performing oral sex on him -- back in 1991 when she was 17 -- while director Brett Ratner sat and watched.

His lawyers claim that the polygraph clears him of any wrongdoing.  The possible issue that we see here is that the point of contention is not whether he believes he raped or sexually assaulted a woman, but whether everyone is on one page about what, exactly, constitutes sexual assault.

it's no secret that many men (and women) still believe there's a grey area there.  Some don't know that a woman can say No at ANY time - before or during.  And a man is not entitled to continue in whatever act is occurring.  Some don't know that simply using sex as a tool of control in the workspace - intentionally or not - when there is an imbalance in power, is also problematic.  And still, there are men who believe a woman MUST want them because of theri status.  So since she's not kicking and screaming "No," even if she feels forced into the act, some may feel that is consensual.

Russell is putting out his own statements AND launching a #NOTME campaign to "defend himself properly." In case follks were ready to pop off on him for diminishing.

Before the couple had fun at the Christmas celebration with the royals, The Mountain Between Us actor was asked about fellow actress Meghan Markle’s engagement to Prince Harry and he had nothing but good things to say about her.

“Meghan Markle, as a person, regardless of her color, is a role model,” he gushed to Sky News. “As a strong woman marrying into our royal family, she’s going to be a role model for any woman.”

He added:

“The point is that of course our society is one of mixed heritage and it’s nice to see Meghan within the Royal Family. It’s great. And of course she’s going to be a beacon and of course she’s going to be someone that people look towards.”

With the announcement of their upcoming bundle of joy, fans will be stalking their social media accounts to see what the Legends are up to. But, the “All Of Me” singer said he’s cool with that.

“I’m comfortable with it,” John Legend told PEOPLE on the set of Sesame Street.“I think we share what we want to share, and we don’t share the things we don’t want to share.”

In fact, John (above heading to dinner with Chrissy in NYC) embraces social media with open arms because he and Chrissy can control what’s being put out there about their lives.

“I think we’re able to edit the way that we’re presented in a way that actually gives us more control than previous eras,” he said. “So some people are a little worried about social media in that way, but the positive side is that it gives you control over your own image and control over what you share with people.”

“Black Ink” just premiere its newest season and the first episode said Dutchess’ name so much we thought she was going to pop out somewhere. But that wasn’t the case. Why? Well, she’s no longer on the show.

The rumor mill claims she was FIRED, but chick has RECEIPTS that she quit. And that’s not all the receipts she has in her arsenal. She legit rolled up to the intervoew with a full on book of them.

The former “Black Ink” star stopped by Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club” to address all the rumors that are swirling around about her. And she has the PROOF to back up everything she said.

For starters, Dutchess claims the production company, Big Fish, does whatever they can to get ratings, including trying force Dutch to either marry her ex-fiancé Ceaser or break up. Yep, they gave her THAT ultimatum.

Dutch wasn’t with it, along with several other things, so she QUIT. And here’s the proof:

 

These bloggers that work for my ex fiancé (Jeff is the blogger and he’s not interested in women) Have to do a better job at their jobs. I WAS NEVER FIRED from black ink the tv show. I chose to walk away. This is evidence of the spin off /development deal that Was offered and declined. This is a cry for ratings and I’m not even on the show lmao. I’ve spoke nothing of them since the breakup damn I wish I could have the same Peace. Oh, and there’s more….

The Pretty In Ink honcho said Ceaser did NOT GIVE her the shop she owns in North Carolina like he claimed in a previous interview. Chick pulled out paperwork to prove his name isn’t on ANYTHING for her shop and seemingly never was.

Since she no longer wanted to be on "Black Ink," she said Big Fish offered to give her spin-off show that she turned it down. She had receipts for that as well.

Speaking of shops, she NEVER sent any legal documents gunning for HALF of Ceaser's "Black Ink" empire because she's well aware you have to actually be married to be entitled to anything. Bloop! 

That time she caught Ceasar cheating in an earlier season, she said production had to use a producer to pretend like she was the woman her ex was cheating on her with. The actual woman he was cheating with sent a cease and desist where they could NOT mention her name on the show. So, one of the female producers filmed a scene kissing Ceaser.  Gross.

As for all the homes we see the cast in on the show: They’re all Airbnb homes. (Does this go for the Chicago cast too?  Because...)

She said when they first started filming, she allowed production to film in their home, but they tried to play her. She said Ceaser’s cousin was staying with them and was sleeping on an air mattress. When the footage was shown on television, producers/editors made it seem like she and Ceaser were actually sleeping on the air mattress and that’s when she decided they could no longer film in their home.

One reason Dutchess didn’t want to marry Ceasar was due to the fact that he owed so much child support. She said while they were together, she paid up to $20,000 in child support payments. And chick whipped out the actual receipts to prove she paid it. She is better than us.

No surprise here. She revealed Ceaser and her former co-star Sky lie for storylines. And then she got into the interview Sky’s son did with Gossip Viv inside of her tattoo shop. Dutchess said Sky’s son Genesis and his father Alton came to her shop and asked to have their story heard. She didn't seek them out for the interview.

Joe Budden is letting Eminem (and the people in his camp) HAVE it. Find out why he's NOT here for Em's new "woke" track "Untouchable," plus peep performances from HOT 97's HOT For The Holidays concert inside...

Joe Budden had to get some ish off his chest when it comes to Eminem’s new track “Untouchable,” a cut from his newly released album, Revival.

Joe is known for not holding his tongue and he definitely didn’t while critiquing Em’s new track on Complex’s “Everyday Struggle” web series. On the track, Em raps from two different point of views. One as a racist white cop as he reveals exactly how he terrorizes black communities. And the other as a black man living in 2017 who has to deal with police brutality, systemic racism and more.

While some are praising Em for shedding light on these issues, Joe (who is friends with Em) is not impressed. In fact, he’s PISSED.

They began the discussion playing a clip of “Untouchable,” and Joe, who just welcomed a baby boy, yelled out “Throw it in rice. This is one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard. This is the first time in my life that I feel like the ball is being dropped on Eminem.”

And he didn’t stop there.

“You will not use the plight of black people, not him—Interscope or whoever the f*ck in behind that, to sell a f*cking record and widen your f*cking profit margin. This seems disingenuous. It doesn’t seem sincere.”

He continued, “Em, I love and respect. The things I learned from him are part of the reason I retired early because if you’re at the top of rap, I don’t want that. Em is surrounded by too many musical geniuses to put this quality of music out.”

We all know Em to be one to touch on racism in America, like when he dropped “White America” in 2002. For this "Untouchable" track, it seems like Joe feels Em may have made the song to profit from black people’s struggle. It’s a tricky situation. It's quite interesting that Em drops this type of track when he hasn't released a song like this in umpteen years. Joe makes several good points about how the people behind Em are dibbling and dabbing simply for profit.

Kevin Hart, his wife Eniko Hart, and his children, Hendrix, Heaven and Kenzo, are giving us some family Christmas feels. For their Christmas card this year, the Harts snapped it up for a movie-themed card. And how appropriate since Kevin is a Hollywood titan, slaying box offices in every movie he stars in.

Baby Kenzo made his arrival just in time for the holidays, making his grand entrance on November 21st.

The funnyman is going to be super busy when the new year rolls around.

He's got a newborn baby to take care of along with his two older kiddies Heaven and Hendrix, a wife to keep happy as they rebuild the trust, finishing his stand-up Irresponsible Tour, and tons of movies and shows including Jumanji and Night School on deck.

He's always working on a new movie. He was spotted on the set of Untouchable yesterday with Bryan Cranston. The flick is a comedic look at the relationship between a wealthy paraplegic and a unemployed man with a criminal record who's hired to help him.

Speaking of rebuilding trust with his wife…

The Jumanji (Dec. 20th) star opened up about his cheating scandal/extortion with Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club.” The 38-year-old actor/comedian said that moment was a moment of bad judgment and his actions were beyond irresponsible.  He said repeatedly, "I f***ed up."

"That's Kevin Hart in his dumbest moment. That's not the finest hour of my life," he said. "With that being said, you make your bed you lay in it. You can't say what were you thinking, because you weren't thinking."

Kevin said his mistake has made him a better man for his wife and his kids.

"I'm going to make my wife fully aware of what's going on in the situation that I have now put us in and I'm hoping that she has a heart to where she can forgive me and understand that this is not going to be a reoccurring thing and allow me to recover from my f*cking massive mistake. That's what I'm trying to do not only as a man, but with teaching a lesson to my son.”

He continued, "This straight line that I'm walking on now, there are no moments to be off-balance. There are no more shots. There are no more chances. I'm done. I'm done! I don't want that level of fun no more, I don't need it," he said. "I'm on some grown man different sh*t where if it doesn't involve my family, I'm not interested."

While everyone has an opinion on Eniko staying with Kevin after cheating, he said she’s no pushover.  It's indeed a cold house sometimes.

"My wife is not a f*cking rug. Listen, my wife is not a rug. That woman is a woman. She is real," he said. "Nobody sees her really talk. I know that woman. That woman, when she sees red, she sees red."

Kevin said he accepted the backlash he received from fans and his wife since he was caught cheating. But it was one thing that REALLY bothered him. People saying the extortion scandal was “karma” for cheating on his first wife, Torrei Hart. He said he blames his wife for giving his new wife that “homewrecker” tag.

“That title was put on her by my ex out of anger,” he shared. “She’s not that [homewrecker].”

He said he had been legally separated from Torrei for over a year, which is one of the guidelines of getting a divorce in the first place. He said he had tons of women during that time. Oop!

Interestingly, he's said in his own stand ups and his book that he messed up with Torrei as well. Whatever Kev. And we won't even start on the "my wife is such a strong woman because of everything she handled with grace" comments. Let's stop measuring the strength of a woman by how much bullshit from men she can endure, shall we?

There may be reason to believe people are watching Terry Crews and his family following his sexual assault lawsuit!  He revealed his life could be in danger. Read the eerie tweets inside…

Terry Crews believes someone may be watching him and his family after he came forward about being sexually assaulted by a Hollywood exec.  Not just watching him, but borderline stalking!  Now, he feels they all may be in danger for their lives.

Earlier this month, the “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” actor pulled the trigger on a lawsuit against his former agency, WME, and the former head of the agency, Adam Venit, for sexual assault. Terry claims Adam allegedly grabbed his genitals during a party in February 2016. According to reports, Adam has since apologized and Terry sat down with WME co-boss Ari Emanuel last month. Adam Venit was put on a 30-day suspension and came back to work in a diminished capacity on November 27th. By the way, he's now being represented by UTA.

Now, the 49-year-old actor is fearing for his safety and the safety of his family. In series of tweets, he tells his Twitter followers that he believes he and his family are being “tracked and possibly bugged.” He believes his computer has been hacked and said the LAPD told him "these people don't play fair."

He also dropped a nugget about Russell Simmons, who’s currently involved in a major sexual assault scandal himself and is currently being investigated.   He said he believes he was pressured to by WME to ask him to give Adam a "pass." 

It would be interesting if there was a link between Russell not getting Terry to drop the story and Russell's own sexual assault and rape allegations coming to light.

Tiffany Haddish probably should have read the final version of her memoir before it was released to the masses because now she’s saying some stories were fabricated. Also, her ex-husband William Stewart is speaking out and claims he NEVER abused her like what’s detailed in the book. Deets inside….

Tiffany Haddish has had one hell of a year, starring in the blockbuster hit Girls Trip and making history hosting “Saturday Night Live.” Not only that, the YBF comedienne recently released her memoir, The Last Black Unicorn. And now, some controversy is stirring up around it.

Apparently, the 38-year-old actress didn’t read the final version of her book because he claims there are some stories that were exaggerated a bit.  Now, her ex-husband William Stewart (who she married and divorced twice) is speaking out to clear his name as he claims he NEVER abused Tiffany and that the stories told in her memoir are false.

In an Instagram Live vid, Tiffany tells her followers that she didn’t realize the book was “tweaked” until she started recording the voiceover for the audio book. She said while recording the audio book (seen atop), she explains what really happened.

Meanwhile, Tiffany's ex-husband William is trying to clear his name from the abuse allegations. He called into V-103’s Ryan Cameron Morning Show With Wanda Smith to tell his side of what really happened and its basically the opposite of everything Tiffany wrote in her book.

William said he doesn’t want to air out ALL of their dirty laundry, but he has decided to lawyer up.

Here's some of what he said during the interview:

“I married Tiffany, her issues, and not the Hollywood lifestyle,” William shared. “I have never beat or hit or called a woman a ‘MF or a B’ while having a disagreement in my life. I never caused a miscarriage, and I have documents to prove this."

“Tiffany advised me about a month ago about the book and she told me that I would be furious.”

“I’m not gonna try to tear something down that I helped build. I just wanna come on this show to tell the truth. I have been seeking legal representation, I don’t wanna bring all the dirt out. Tiffany and I, I believe that we can settle this.”

Well look who is HAPPY as pie!

Now that Mel B’s nasty divorce from Stephen Belafonte is officially finalized, chick can breathe a little easier.

The former Spice Girl was spotted all smiles with her BFF Gary arriving at Burbank Airport after filming a new episode of “America’s Got Talent” in Las Vegas. Mel could hardly contain herself from laughing so much.

Now, the pics were actually take a day before the divorce docs were officially finalized (December 14th), but she knew it was coming down the pipeline.

TMZ got a hold of the legal documents and they're reporting a judge granted finalized their divorce on December 15th. And we know Mel is happy because ish got NASTY.

All they have to do now is figure out how they’ll divide the rest of their property.

We previously told you the details in Mel and Stephen’s divorce settlement. The “AGT” judge has to pay Stephen $15,000 a month in spousal support for three years. They’ll share joint custody of their child and neither will have to pay child support. They will also split the proceeds from the sale of their $8.9 million Hollywood Hills mansion.

Newly single Stephen was spotted outside of Delilah in West Hollywood last night. He was also seen leaving Soho House in West Hollywood with a new chick the night his divorce was finalized. We saw the pics.  He opened the door for the mystery woman to get in his car and drove off into the night. Not surprised at all.

In other news...

It’s still not clear whether Blac Chyna (above rocking Laurel DeWitt) and Future were actually dating, but she definitely got his name tattooed on her hand.

Well, that situationship fizzled before it really even got started.  And before she got with her now ex-fiance Rob Kardashian.  Now, Chy’s ready to just have it as a distant memory. It looks like she had laser surgery to have to tattoo removed and then inked her daughter’s name over it.

The Lash Boutique owner actually copped two new tattoos, paying tribute to her son King Cairo and her daughter Dream. If you look hard enough, you can still see Future’s name under Dream’s.

She always denied dating Future, so we're not sure why she thought it was a good idea to get his name tatted on her body. Anyhoo, she has two babies to keep her busy now and hopefully can distract her from making another silly mistake.  We do hear she's in talks to get a reality show of her own though...

La, who separated from Carmelo back in April after news of his cheating AND an alleged side baby broke, was laced in patent leather pants, a blue and tan fur and long orange nails (still got the Knicks team spirit we see).

She was front and center on the sidelines.  But we couldn't help but notice this ish.

Azealia Banks is fed up with the bullsh*t and she’s threatening to pull the trigger on a lawsuit…or two. Deets on her legal situation, plus an update on Remy Ma and Papoose's IVF journey inside…

The rap beef continues!

Ish got hostile between Azealia Banks and Remy Ma when Banks came at Remy, calling her a “confused Nicki Minaj stan.” She made the comment after Remy went on HOT 97 shading the female rap game saying, ”It was tumbleweeds blowing through as far as female artists is concerned.”

Following Azealia’s IG rant against Remy, the “Love & Hip Hop” star BLASTED the Harlem raptress on social media, sharing text messages and audio messages she received from Banks where she praised Remy as the best female rapper in the game.

Well now, Banks is looking to take things to another level. Yep, she’s trying to lawyer up and pull the trigger on a lawsuit since she not about that “ghetto no snitching society of rules.”

The “212” rapper posted up a series of posts via Instagram Stories writing:

And Remy isn't the only person on her radar.

Daytime talk show host Wendy Williams could possibly be receiving paperwork from Banks. During her “Hot Topics” segment, Wendy alluded that Azealia was a prostitute after Banks said she wanted to get vaginal rejuvenation.

“Now we understand how she gets her money,” Wendy said on the show. “She’s got no kids and she’s 26, with a vaginal rejuvenation? Wow. She works hard for her money.”

Apparently, these comments upset Azealia, allegedly bringing her to tears. In an Instagram post, she accused the controversial daytime talk show host of bullying and said she reached a new low. Check it:

In other news...

Remy and her husband Papoose just took another step in their IVF journey. As you all know, Pap has been wanting a baby since Remy was released from jail in 2014. The couple got pregnant last year, but ended up suffering a miscarriage in January 2017. A doctor told Remy she wouldn't be able to naturally have another baby, so they're trying IVF.

Cornel West is stirring up drama with everybody. Ta-Nehisi Coates had to respond to the black philosopher’s Neoliberalism comments. And writer Jelani Cobb came to his defense. Deets inside…

Black philosopher and intellectual Cornel West gave zero ***** when he gave his honest opinion on Ta-Nehisi’s new book, We Were Eight Years in Power, a book about President Barack Obama and white supremacy.

Apparently, Dr. West didn’t like what he was reading because he went lethal on Coates in an op-ed piece for The Guardian. Dr. West accuses Coates of “fetishizing white supremacy” and how he represents the neoliberalism.  He's known for appearing to have a lil salt on his shoulder when it comes to the newer and arguably more "popular" black-thought crowd.  And folks are calling him a hater for his recent comments.

In the piece he wrote: 

In short, Coates fetishizes white supremacy. He makes it almighty, magical and unremovable. What concerns me is his narrative of “defiance”. For Coates, defiance is narrowly aesthetic – a personal commitment to writing with no connection to collective action. It generates crocodile tears of neoliberals who have no intention of sharing power or giving up privilege.

He represents the neoliberal wing that sounds militant about white supremacy but renders black fightback invisible. This wing reaps the benefits of the neoliberal establishment that rewards silences on issues such as Wall Street greed or Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands and people.

"Fetishizes white supremacy"?  Isn't that arguably what the MANY black activists who only date and marry white women/men do?  If we're going to throw out accusations, it's certainly food for thought.

Dr. West continued:

There is no doubt that the marketing of Coates – like the marketing of anyone – warrants suspicion. Does the profiteering of fatalism about white supremacy and pessimism of black freedom fit well in an age of Trump – an age of neo-fascism, US style?

Coates praises Obama as a “deeply moral human being” while remaining silent on the 563 drone strikes, the assassination of US citizens with no trial, the 26,171 bombs dropped on five Muslim-majority countries in 2016 and the 550 Palestinian children killed with US supported planes in 51 days, etc. He calls Obama “one of the greatest presidents in American history,” who for “eight years ... walked on ice and never fell.”

I stand with those like Robin DG Kelley, Gerald Horne, Imani Perry and Barbara Ransby who represent the radical wing of the black freedom struggle. We refuse to disconnect white supremacy from the realities of class, empire, and other forms of domination – be it ecological, sexual, or others.

The same cannot be said for Ta-Nehisi Coates.

Well, Ta-Nehisi got wind of Dr. West’s critique and decided to whip out receipts of his work to combat the comments made about his writing style. He basically attacked every critique made by Dr. West with articles he has written on said topics.

Y’all know we love some black excellence around these parts. And we’re even more obsessed with these YBFers.

The NAACP hosted its 49th annual Image Awards Nominees' Luncheon at The Beverly Hilton Hotel where YBF stars aligned for some fun. Everyone who’s up for an award was in the mix to celebrate the recognition and young Hollywood showed out.

“New Edition Story” actor/nominee Woody McClain was all smiles on the carpet before heading inside. The young star is in the running for Outstanding Actor in a Television Movie, Limited-Series or Dramatic Special.

Woody’s “New Edition” co-star Algee Smith was also in the mix. The 23-year-old was recognized for his role in “Detroit” and he’s in the running for the Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture award.

Another young cutie on the carpet was “Power” star Michael Rainey Jr., who has been nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Youth (Series, Special, Television Movie or Limited Series) category.

Michael Rainey Jr. will be up against "This Is Us" actor Lonnie Chavis in the Outstanding Performance by a Youth (Series, Special, Television Movie or Limited Series) category as he's in the running as well.

The 13-year-old “black-ish” starlet has been nominated for TWO Image Awards, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and she’ll go up against Michael and Lonnie in the Outstanding Performance by a Youth (Series, Special, Television Movie or Limited Series). 

"Claws" actress Niecy Nash killed this royal blue midi dress with a ruffle accent. Her new show earned her a nomination in the Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series category.

Yvette Nicole Brown, who currently stars on "The Mayor," nabbed a nominate for her voice over work on DIsney's “Elena of Avalor." She's in the running for the Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance award.

Lil Rel Howery's performance in the critically acclaimed Get Out movie earned him a nomination in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture category.  He's most definitely the only on-screen bestie we want saving US in a horror movie.  He also hosted and celebrated his birthday yesterday.  Nice!

Our favorite TV/film mom! Loretta Devine was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in the now canceled NBC series, “The Carmichael Show." She was also nominated in the Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance category for her voice over work on “Doc McStuffins."

Changing gears, Demetria McKinney dropped her album, Officially Yours, this year that landed her in the Outstanding New Artist category.

Speaking of music, rapper/newlywedMC Lyte lit up the carpet in florals.

Speaking of newlyweds, "Orange Is The New Black" actress Samira Wiley hit the carpet with her wife/"OITNB" writer Lauren Morelli.  Samira was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role in Hulu's “The Handmaid’s Tale.”

"The Real" co-hosts Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon hit the carpet together as their daytime talk show is in the running for the Outstanding Talk Series award. Loving both of their looks.

Niecy caught up with EMMY winning writer Lena Waithe, who made history as the first African-American woman to win for comedy writing. Fun times!

The Two-Hour LIVE NAACP Awards will air on TV One on Monday, January 15, 2018, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday with a One-Hour Live Red Carpet Pre-Show.
