Rick Ross caught some heat this week when he appeared on Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club” to explain why he hasn’t signed a female rapper to his Maybach Music Group record label.
The Rather You Than Me rapper said he hasn’t signed a female rapper to his roster because he would be interested in getting between her legs than furthering her career. As expected, he received a ton of backlash online for his sexist comments. Now, he’s apologizing.
The MMG honcho hopped on his Facebook account to publicly apologize, saying his comments were insensitive.
“I want to address an insensitive comment I made on a very sensitive issue, especially in a minority dominated industry like hip hop. My entire empire's backbone is led by 2 of the strongest people I know and they happen to be women, my mother and sister. The operations wouldn't run without them and I have the highest regard and respect for women in this industry. I have a daughter myself, my most cherished gift in the world.”
He said his comments are not a reflection of his beliefs and it was a mistake. He continued:
“My comment is not reflection of my beliefs on the issue. A mistake I regret. I hope to use my mistake, my platform and the community to create positive discussion to implement change on a very important issue. respect for the ones who stand up to say hey that isn't right. Now it's time to accept responsibility and all do better.”

Apparently, “Sidechicks of Charlotte” is a real thing.
The ladies that will appear on the show jetted to NYC to chop it up with Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club” to try and explain what the show is all about and what they’re all about. Comedian Lil Duval sat in on the conversation as the honorary 4th member of the Breakfast Club and y'all know he had jokes.
First, they want everyone to know that they’re not the “bad” guy in these types of situations. They said men cheating on their main chick have been going on for years, they’re just shedding light on the issue and they’re not here to BLAST whomever they’re dealing with.
At times, they feel bad about the whole “sleeping with someone else’s man,” but then again, they don’t. Why? Well, in some cases the ladies said they are forced into being sidechicks without being given an option to choose. One of the castmates explained:
“We do feel bad at times, but sometimes we can’t feel bad because we have to feel bad for ourselves. We was forced into a situation instead of given the option. So, if the dude would have told us upfront ‘I have a situation,’ then maybe that would have given one of us the chance to be like, ‘Ok, I want to deal with this or I don’t want to deal with this.”
While they do admit to sleeping with married men, they said sleeping with a guy who’s just in a relationship and not married doesn’t really mean anything. Nothing matter until that mad has a marriage license.
So why be a side chick? Apparently, it comes with benefits that can’t resist. They said being a sidechick over a main chick is way less stressful. They get what they want (i.e. bills paid, peace and some d*ck) and don’t have to worry about anything else.
Outside of having their wants and needs met, the ladies said they’re actually helping marriages stay together. One woman (who was married once and now divorced) said married people get bored and they provide that excitement. OH.
The ladies said they are looking to use this opportunity to brand themselves and to get into entrepreneurship. They said the name is just a name. The executive producer of the show, named 704, was also there and he said the show came about after he made a song mocking the "Real Housewives of Atlanta."
The only white woman in the group revealed she's a 2nd generation sidechick, revealing her grandmother was a sidechick. Chile...
They said they’re not encouraging folks to be a sidechick, they just want to bring awareness to what’s going on. Some of them have kids and said they aren’t worried about their kids being teased in school because everyone gets teased for something.
The “Sidechicks of Charlotte” said the advice they would give their kids is, “Do as I say, not as I do.”
Their philosophy is, if they’re labeled as sidechicks, their main girl is too because they’re sharing the same dude.
As for the show, they said several networks have reached out to them. But, it’s still unclear where this show will end up. Charlamagne asked them which network picked them up so we can protest it. Lord.

“The shards that cut me the deepest were the ones that intended to cut,” Mrs. Obama said in reference to being called an ape and comments about her backside. “Knowing that after eight years of working really hard for this country, there are still people who won’t see me for what I am because of my skin color.”
“Women, we endure those cuts in so many ways that we don’t even notice we’re cut,” she said. “We are living with small tiny cuts, and we are bleeding every single day. And we’re still getting up.”
So very true.
Mrs. O encouraged women to own their scars and assured them they will heal with time. She also also motivated women to seize their power and not to hide their scars as it could help other young women who are getting their first cuts.

During the “Drink Champs” podcast with N.O.R.E. earlier this month, the “How To Be A Bad B*tch” author was talking about the hardships she faced growing up in South Philly. She said girls gave her a hard time because she grew up in a neighborhood where people aren’t "traditionally attractive" and she was blessed with beauty. She felt being beautiful was a blessing and a curse growing up around less attractive people.

Torrei Hart, Kevin Hart’s ex-wife, is from Philly and had plenty to say to address Amber’s comments. First, she threw some shade, asking if Amber is comparing herself to other Philly girls before or after having surgery enhancements. Yikes.
Torrei went on to call Amber irresponsible for her "twisted" comments since so many young girls look up to her and they believe everything that comes out of her mouth. She said her comments could have made a negative impact on a young girl living in Philly with self-esteem issues.

Former “Moesha” star Shar Jackson is making headlines after Nickelodeon star Chris Massey accused her of abusing his daughter. He shares a daughter with Shar’s daughter Cassalei Jackson. Shar was hit with a restraining order to stay away from the child after Chris allegedly discovered a four-inch gash on the child's forehead.
Now, Cassalei is speaking out in defense of her mother.
Cassalei claims her mother is being falsely accused of abuse in an attempt “save face after years of documented abuse." In April 2016, Chris was arrested on domestic abuse charges after he was accused of pushing Cassalei to the ground during an argument in the club. Cassalei feels the "Zoey 101" star is trying to bash her mother because Shar has been trying to tell her for years Chris is no good.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Cassalei writes, "I told myself this wasn't worth my time, but it is now a legal issue. My mother has never laid a finger on my child and my ex is a despicable man for slandering her in a futile attempt to save face after his years of documented abuse."
"Please stop harassing my mother, who has done nothing but protect me and try to get me to see the light where Christopher is concerned. I have filed reports against my ex in the past, but I chose not to fully prosecute him because of my, perhaps naive, belief that he would change and be a better father to our daughter."
Since the restraining order was granted, Shar has to stay at least 50 yards away from her granddaughter. Shar hasn't responded to the accusations directly, but she has been posting subliminals on social media:

In good news...
Jenifer Lewis scored a win and a huge payout from LA Fitness after she accused the company of hiring a con-artist that swindled her out of $50,000, according to The Jasmine Brand.
Back in January, the “black-ish” star blasted her ex-boyfriend/LA Fitness club manager Brice Carrington, the alleged con-man she dated for years whom she met at LA Fitness, when she discovered his criminal past. Not only did he dupe her out of thousands of dollars, he also conned other investors out of $4 million.
It’s unclear how much money LA Fitness settled for.
Since the payout, LA Fitness responded to the settlement where they did not admit any guilt. The company said they offered the settlement in an attempt to end the matter. However, the company is demanding the actress drop the charges, which she reportedly agreed to do five days after she received the payment. They claim she’s only dragging it out for no other reason than a final publicity stunt.
Yikes.
In legal woes…
Rapper Z-RO was arrested on felony assault charges, but he claims his rapper girlfriend Just Brittany, who stars on VH1’s new show “Signed,” had him arrested as a publicity stunt to get her name in the headlines.
Souces tell TMZ the timing of Brittany going to the cops is suspscious and doesn’t add up. The site reports:
First, there's the picture Brittany posted on Twitter just after 1:51 AM on April 30. The alleged beating took place on April 29. We're told Z-Ro thinks it proves she wasn't beaten at all. In the photo, Brittany's wearing a red bodysuit and smiling next to a friend.
There's also this ... Z-Ro is telling friends it's not a coincidence Brittany reported the alleged assault on Monday -- 3 months later -- because the new reality show she's on, "Signed," premiered Wednesday. The insinuation -- she's just trying to get her name in headlines. To that point, our Z-Ro sources point out Brittany bragged she was trending on social media ... the day after his arrest.
However, when we asked about the 21 minute recording police say Brittany has of the incident -- we were told Z-Ro hasn't heard it, and won't speak about it.

K-Dot is currently trekking the nation on his DAMN Tour. This week, he made a stop in Detroit at The Palace of Auburn Hills and he pulled off a huge surprise for his fans. He brought out J.Cole and everyone completely lost it.
The 2014 Forest Hills Drive rapper, who’s currently making rounds on his own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour, found time out of his schedule to rock the stage with his fellow rapping brother. Cole performed a three-song set, including "Deja Vu," "A Tale of 2 Cities" and "No Role Modelz."

On Father’s Day, the former supermodel went out to celebrate at a restaurant with her father and her son York, she explained during an interview on the “Late Night With Seth Meyers” this week. The restaurant was by the ocean and her son wanted to take a dip, so she let him.
“It wasn’t so much that I was itching for the world to see him,” she explained. “I went to a restaurant for Father’s Day with my son and my dad. It was by the ocean and my son was, ‘Awa! Awa! Awa!’ Water. And so I was like, ‘OK, you’re going to get in the water for the first time.’ I slathered him with sunscreen; he was looking purple, because he’s black, so when we put on sunscreen we look purple. And he just was looking crazy — got slammed by waves, sand everywhere.”
When it was time to leave, the paparazzi were lined up outside of the venue trying to catch that money shot of the "America's Got Talent" host's son. She covered her son as they made their way to their vehicle, but she wasn't sure if they were able to get a flick of her son.
“I pull over the gas station after they get the shot, I text his dad and I’m like, ‘I’ve got to put this picture out before the paparazzi. I don’t want them to make money off our child and have the first picture.’ So, I posted the damn picture.”
“The next day, there ain’t no paparazzi pictures, ’cause mama knew how to hide that camera. She’s a supermodel for a reason! And so now his picture is out there and I didn’t need it to be!”

It’s a topic men and women seem to most times be opposite ends of the spectrum. The woman feels the man who helped her conceive a child should help out financially, while the man (most times) feels like he shouldn’t have to cough up a specified amount of money a month to the mother of their kid.
Well, Ludacris got his Instagram buzzing with comments from his celebrity friends when he posted a screenshot of a “fake news” story about a new child support card that controls what a mother a can buy with child support money.
It clearly touched a nerve as Dwyane Wade, 50 Cent and Matt Barnes hopped in the comment section expressing how they NEED one of these cards in their lives.

Lil Boosie noticed a huge amount of money missing from his bank account, and it turns out, his brother is allegedly behind it all.
The Baton Rouge rapper reportedly tipped off the cops that his bank account had been hacked with a cool $361,000 missing. He noticed a bunch of transactions that he didn’t make on his Capital One statement.
Come to find out…Boosie’s brother, Taquari Hatch, is allegedly the culprit. TMZ got their hands on the police report that says Taquari made more than a dozen wire transfers to different people who would in turn give him cash. One transfer was as much as $80,000. Ummm…did he not think Boosie wouldn’t notice?
So here’s how he got caught. While Taquari was talking to Capital One’s customer service posing as his brother, he mentioned having a wife, which Boosie does not have. That put the fraud apartment on alert and then he was caught.
Boosie’s brother was arrested last week on fraud and identity theft charges.
By the way, that's a recent picture of Boosie above. He clearly doesn't care what Jay Z has to say about the "money phone."

Mariah Carey’s bodyguard went straight "Deebo" on a man backstage when he thought he was going to harm the singer. But, it turns out, the man could possibly be a credentialed journalist.
James Pablo (the alleged journalist), said he was backstage at Mariah and Lionel Richie’s show at San Diego State’s Viegas Arena gearing up to interview MiMi on Thursday.
He said he walked up to Mariah and requested a picture, which she obliged. As he went to take the selfie, he said one of her bodyguards grabbed him by the lanyard around his neck and literally dragged him outside. Yikes. See his injury here.
James flagged down cops outside, filed a police report and said he wanted to press charges.
However, folks in MiMi’s camp tell TMZ that James is not a credentialed journalist. He’s an obsessed fan who snuck backstage with a fake media badge. The bodyguard said he was just doing his job. When he saw the man grab Mariah's dress he thought he was going to attack her so he sprung into action.

R. Kelly made his way to Virginia Beach, VA for his first live concert since that explosive exposé came about him allegedly running a sex cult operation in his Chicago and Atlanta homes.
If you thought the allegations were going to have an effect on his show, guess again. Kellz made it crystal clear he was going to give his fans a signature R. Kelly show because that’s what they came for. He told the audience the “boss man” requested he toned down his set, but that’s not happening.
Kellz still had the ladies whipping sweat off his body while serenading them. He even encouraged female fans to grab his man parts.
You’ll recall, there was a report that R. Kelly concert tickets were selling like hot cakes, but that may have been far from the truth. The Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheatre holds 20,000 seats and concertgoers on the scene told TMZ the arena was less than half full. Welp.

Aretha Franklin is back!
Unfortunately, the Queen of Soul had suffered some health issues that caused her to cancel several shows in the last year. But, she’s doing better now and she's back to doing what she loves: singing. We see auntie Aretha dropped some pounds as well.
Backstage, Aretha snapped it up with gospel singer Ricky Dillard after a concert in Virginia. It appears she was busy counting her coins when Ricky popped up for a photo-op.
He captioned, “So humbled to hangout with the QUEEN OF SOUL Ms. Aretha Franklin! Ms. Franklin has had some health challenges but she's doing so much better and still doing what she was anointed to do and that's sing!!! Pls keep your negative comments off this post . HBO has responded to the backlash they’ve been receiving via the #NoConfederate campaign. Speaking of responses, Lil Boosie’s sister-in-law is defending her husband after reports that said he stole money from his brother. Get it all inside…
Since we told you about this atrocity of show coming to HBO, folks have banded together for a #NoConfederate campaign asking the network to axe the show. The campaign was kicked off by #OscarsSoWhite campaign leader Roxane Gay.
But they’re not budging, at least, not yet.
HBO has issued a response to the campaign and they’re trying to convince us to give “Confederate” a chance. As you know, the show will explore what the future would have been like if the South won the Civil War and slavery remained legal.
“We have great respect for the dialogue and concern being expressed around ‘Confederate,’” HBO said in a statement. “We have faith that Nichelle, Dan, David and Malcolm will approach the subject with care and sensitivity. The project is currently in its infancy so we hope that people will reserve judgment until there is something to see.”
The show is written by “Game of Thrones” producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (above) and they’re working with two non-white producers, Nichelle Tramble Spellman and her husband Malcolm Spellman.
A few days ago, HBO’s programming president Casey Bloys served up the lamest defense as to why this show is needed.
We've said this since we first heard about the series: WE DO NOT NEED THIS. PERIOD.

Lil Boosie's sister-in-law, Nadia Hatch, is responding to reports that her husband, Taquari Hatch, stole $361,000 from Boosie's bank account. It was reported Taquari made several wire transactions to people who would in turn give him cash. Once cops did an investigation, it was revealed Boosie's brother was, in fact, the culprit.

Word on the curb is that Beyonce will be giving us all a front seat look at her life in a new documentary. We’re not sure how true this is, but we’re here for it.
A fan site posted an “exclusive” report that said Mrs. Carter will be releasing a documentary that will chronicle her pregnancy, the makings of her LEMONADE album, and behind-the-scenes of her FORMATION Tour.
It’s also said to touch of the alleged infidelity in her marriage with Jay Z. “The documentary will be a grittier look at the last 2 years of Beyonce’s life, including an emotional tour stop in Glaskow, Scotland after the deaths of Philando Castille and Alton Sterling,” the tweet read.
They also claim HBO and Netflix are in a “bidding war” over the documentary and there could possibly be a FORMATION World Tour DVD to be released.

More information is coming out after rapper Z-RO was arrested on felony assault charges for allegedly beating down his rapper girlfriend Just Brittany.
Sources in Brittany’s camp tell TMZ the Houston rapper produced a track that details a violent, physical altercation with his girlfriend. Brittany’s name isn’t mentioned on the song, but it’s reported he sent her the track one month after he allegedly beat her.
There are some eyebrow raising lyrics on the track titled, “Sorry.” And Brittany feels like it’s a confession to what he did to her:
“I'm sorry, baby; I'm sorry, baby // I just can't be your ho // I can't believe I put my hands on you, I ain't wanna do it, I was trying to blow 20 grand on you // the f*** is man gon' do with all this ungratefulness and hatefulness from the people I deal with and the woman I chill with."
After his arrest, Z-RO spoke out claiming Brittany called the police for his arrest as a publicity stunt since she’s currently starring on VH1’s new show “Signed.” He said the timing of the show and his arrest are very coincidental.

Former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is coming back to the “D.”
According to Detroit News, the former mayor will be transferred from an Oklahoma prison to the ‘D’ for a hearing scheduled on August 23rd in federal court to determine just how much restitution Kwame has to pay after he was sentenced to prison for City Hall corruption.
In 2013, Kwame was sentenced to a 28-year prison sentence, one of the longest federal prison sentences for corruption in U.S. history.
The 47-year-old, who’s representing himself, was originally ordered to pay $4,584,423 in restitution to the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department. An appellate court reduced the amount and prosecutors have argued the new amount should be $1.6 million. As of now, Kwame claims he’s “destitute” and only has 96 cents in his prison bank account.
The notice comes four weeks after Kilpatrick, 47, asked the judge to vacate his racketeering conviction and set aside a 28-year prison sentence, saying there was no corruption during his scandal-plagued tenure.
Kilpatrick’s quest for freedom is largely a rehash of arguments rejected by the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals but includes a new wrinkle. Kilpatrick argues he never committed extortion, bribery or racketeering and that his conduct did not constitute an official act.
The request appears pegged to new case law since Kilpatrick’s conviction was based on “official acts,” Henning said. If Kilpatrick is successful in getting convictions tossed for those crimes, he could receive a lesser sentence, Henning said.

Oh, and plenty of bottles were popped. It’s reported Future and Nicki ordered 10 bottles of Ace of Spades for their VIP table, which totaled a cool $20,000 in champagne.
Folks on the scene said Future and Nicki, who just released their “You Da Baddest” video, rolled up to the club together around 2 AM and stayed till about 4:30AM.
